hmmm, i been playing halo on my laptop for a long time and gotten good at sniping. the laptop's graphics does the good old grey textures. recently i installed halo pc on a really good gaming computer. WOW. big differnce there. execpt that it is harder to sniper now. in the crappy graphics, when you zoom, it isnt all blurry. now it is

i don't know if it's supposed to be blurry. I don't have an xbox and can't remember if the sniper zoom was blurry on my friends xbox. I get the blurry zoom, but always thought it was supposed to be that way.

I used to have the blurry effect and I turned down one of the video options (specular I think) and it went away. Try doing that or using a lower shader by entering a command switch --crap that I don't remember -- let me look it up. OK add -use14 or -use11 to the end of your command line that will force Halo to use the lower shader versions which your graphic setup may have trouble with.

maybe a scratch on the CD or your graphics card on your laptop is better than your cpu, mostly it depends how old each cpu is, and what Petieum u have

The black edge is supposed to be blurry, the center is not supposed to be blurry. I highly doubt that his laptop's card was better than his pc's and it won't be a scratch.

Turn off "pixel shaders" in the preferences. Use "vertex shaders" only.

the image is supposed to be blurry around the edge, you just have to turn down some settings to make it go away.
