I recommend you get Halo 1 PC, it works every well with Windows 7.

Do not get Halo 2 PC, it is a unsupported piece of -blam!-,
it is the most -blam!-iest game ever conceived by Bungie & Microsoft.
if you could find Halo 2 for $0.75, then its well worth it.

Ok so then for the pc game halo 2 does work with the xbox 360 controller for windows but what my question is for the first game halo combat evolved can I also use that controller while playing the game or not and must only use the keyboard and mouse?

Supports controllers although I don't recommend it, no aim-assist.

(Bungie > 343i)

Halo 1&2 both work flawlessly on 7. Halo 1's multiplayer community is still great, not much for multiplayer on Halo 2; but the campaign is great. Love the graphics.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Yes, they both work.
They can also use 360 controller, but you need to map it in halo pc, halo 2 has it mapped already (though you can change it to halo 3 style if u want to.)

Also, Halo 1 has much better multi than 2. And they both have good single player.

Check out my Gaming Rig on EVGA Mod Rigs.

Overall Halo CE is better online considering there are 6x as many people playing but Halo 2 was still fun for a while.

I enjoyed playing it just for the achievements.

Yes. You can use the Xbox controllers for Halo on the PC. Even with those I still prefer just playing Halo on the Xbox. It feels more natural to me. I'd rather use the mouse and keyboard if I had to play it on a PC though.

It's just my opinion though.I hope that answers your question.

Halo PC has a mod community which is still supporting. Also you can download custom content on Halo CE,to get CE you must get the Halo PC C-D key to activate it.Best way to get CE is to get it on halomaps.org

You need a adapter for wireless ones, but all wired MS and 3rd party liscend (like mad catz, pelican, gamestop brand) 360 controllers will work, as they use USB hook ups and MS also has pc drivers for them too.

You can also use logitech controllers for Halo 2 pc as well. They also support rumble in more games too.

Honestly, you should get both games. Halo 2 Vista may not have much of a multiplayer community, and it's certainly not the best port out there, but it's worth buying for the campaign and the upgraded graphics. It's not that expensive if you know where to look. Check eBay and the bargain bin at your local GameStop.

If there was co-op in the game at least it can satisfy me for a few months and I throw the C-D case on fire :D

If i woke up looking like that, i would just run to the nearest living thing, and kill it.

so halo 1 has more of a multiplayer community? but do people still play halo 2v online?

Yes people do. People still get on and there are still a few servers, which fill up.

but is it kind of like xbox where its probably going to take awhile to match up or however it works. basically, will i end up spending more time waiting to play then playing?
