Comin' down in three-part harmony.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum...

Is it possible to play multiplayer in Halo 2 Vista over Windows live with an Xbox live player with Halo 2?

No one will ever know, who decided to drop the idea.
Microsoft's idea was to make them cross-platform.

I think making them cross platforms would have created more problems than it would be worth, although it would have kept the game alive.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Yeah, if you guys can't even code right for a mouse, then there was no hope of this ever working. The game was a throwaway from the very beginning, and as you dropped promised features, it became clear that Xbox was the only thing Bungie could really handle.
But honestly, you ruined the game right out of the gate by making it easier for controller users with the built in aimbot. You forgot that PC users aren't the typical 15 year old Bungie customer. And that is why you failed.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Yeah, Bungie and MS screwed up bad, but let's not shoot the messenger, here. :(

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

He's a forum ninja, not a bungie employee.

Also, the only thing that was well known about h2v (mostly) was the map editor nudity. And that was patched out. It also was a low profile release, as h3 was coming soon. Also, MS didnt "release" info like what happened with MW2PC.

And the main reason it "failed", is because MS didnt patch out the bugs in it like other games made by them (like halo wars) or others.

This is an old account iDarkWint3r is my new Bungie.net user.

H2V didn't even have co-op,and H2X did.So it gives a slight advantage to H2X that's it only available on Halo 2 Xbox.It they were cross-compatible BOTH GAMES would have Co-op for a start. And even if there was Co-op in H2V it still won't save the game's poor performance.

The game wasnt designed to be played on two different PC's or Xbox's as far as Co-Op goes. The game couldnt render the same info on 2 locations.
An Xbox you can Because you plug in another controller. PC....you really cant do 2 keyboards right. let alone gamepads.

They could have done lan co op, but halo 2 xbox didnt support lan co op originally.
