So they ported Halo: CE to the X-Box Live Arcade. If they were going to go to the trouble of doing that, why not just slap 200 Gamerscore onto it?

They would have had to rewrite the code to activate the Achievements, as well as put them in in the first place.

If you download the one off the marketplace, can you play on xbox live multiplayer?

Check out my Gaming Rig on EVGA Mod Rigs.

No, you are buying the original game which did not have XBL support.

This is the same reason there are no achievements.

They call me Obsidian.

It seems to me that Bungie's been cutting a lot of corners lately and getting a little lazy. They should just go the extra mile and rewrite the code, it can't be *that* hard, the game's almost 9 years old now.

Maybe it's something that 343 Studios should look into. All they need to do is throw together a patch or update that is downloaded automatically for Halo: CE after you've bought it off the marketplace. Simple.

The "extra mile" would be an entire game. Halo: CE took 4 years to make, and very few of the Bungie employees have worked with that code. Think about that for a second.

Halo CE wasn't about the points, but about the plot, it was, and still is great, and plus the books (novels) it all works out a really great Story :)

Yeah, it took 4 years back on the original X-box. And not even all of those 4 years were dedicated to the final product. For a little while, they wanted to make it a RTS. I'm sure Bungie has a much better understanding of game programming now than they did back then. They've had 9 more YEARS, that's quite a long time in the gaming industry. They have a MUCH bigger staff now. It should be a breeze compared to say, making Halo 3.

Yes, Halo was about the plot...but we *already have had the plot*. With GS, it would make the game *even better*. The story...got a little confusing. Honestly, I saw absolutely no need to throw time travel into the plot, it was fine as it was. The novels...eh, they were okay.

That wasn't what I meant. The current staff have experience working with the code in Halo 3. Very few of them have worked with Halo: CE, and everything would be relatively speaking, vastly different, considering they used different engines.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Regardless of what anyone feels they should be able to do, the fact of the matter is the title would need to be re-made. This takes time and it's not time that they currently have. Familiarity with programming doesn't mean you can turn out something 10 times faster, and as Chicken said a good deal of the current staff had no invovelemt on CE.

Furthermore Bungie has commented several times on this very board that they will not do this. It's not an issue of laziness, it's an issue of "were busy".

Besides, i'd hate to see the damage done to CE after it's "balanced" for xbl play, no thank you.

The problem is, there is no money to be made here. People are not going to buy Halo 1 because it has achievements.

Not so simple. Also, why deter time away from Reach? Why do you care about CE this much?

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

It is a Xbox original. Not some HD Remix edition, or even a port. It is just Halo 1 running in emulation.

Can you see it is under GAMES ON DEMAND not XBLA.

I'll take my Halo CE the way it is.

It doesn't need any frills or stupid gimmicks like achievements.

The game itself should warrant playing it as it really is an awesome game.
