ok i AM being very stupid, but if i remember correctly the latest halo patch meant i could copy some files from the cd so i didnt need to use the disk to play. but i cant find a guide telling mewhat files i copy to where. see now i got a laptop rather than my pc so tell me am i imagning this or is it true and how!? thx

It's built into the patch. If you are patched to 1.09 just take the disc out of your drive and play the game, no need to copy any files or anything.

Not really, it split the community again and many never came back.

Before the update: 1500 peak players

After the update: 1000 peak players and falling fast

The alternative is have the game become subject to bit rot until it no longer works for anybody.
