He makes a good point, Bungie. Adding a search option and a "My posts" tab would do this forum alot of good.

I sent an email to them a long time ago when I had a different username (that I forgot the password to) I never got any response. Not particularly surprising.

If you really want to find your past posts just add them to your favorites. You shouldnt have to do this but you can if your that worried about it. A search option would be nice though.

Don't hold your breath for a response from the Mods. Most forum Mods regularly post and join in on the discussion once and a while. The Mods on this forum only post when someone has broken the rules or they need to make an announcement. I guess this is due to the size of the Bungie.Net Forums. Anyway, to stay on topic, a search function would be great. I think the amount of replicated thread topics would drastically decrease.

I was just reading the rules and it strikes me that...yea. I agree. I like Bungie and their games, but their fourm seems subpar.

Its ok to ask for a search function but dont try to demand one shouting at the moderators wont do you any good. Try asking them nicely and not accusingly.

I would argue that the lack of a search feature, although quite irritating when trying to locate certain posts, does not make this forum suck. The content of the threads (when not by flamers, trolls, and the like) is interesting and useful.

Hmph, if your thread is that far back, it obviously wasn't very interesting. ;-)

The mods respond all the time, you just happen to not be participating in the same forums you do. Plus, Bungie responds in threads fairly often too.

As for the rather rude demand for answer for a search system... the search system has been in the code for a few months, but it is disabled because its performance is currently not up to par. As I've said before, we won't put up a crappy search just to say we have search. We'll have a good one or none at all.

Furthermore, we are currently in a feature freeze while we work on stability and performance issues. That's almost done, and after that, search is one of the things I intend to work on.

Finally, these forums don't suck. Some of the users need attitude adjustments though.

Strange, doesn't it usually change the Icon of the thread when you post? 'Cause it ain't doing it now.

most people have no earthy idea of the sheer size and complexity of a site like this, the deluge of data being processed every second of every day. comparing b.net to your best friends message board with a whole 12 members, or even a place like hbo is irrelevant, this site is a whole different beast.

be. patient. please. they know what we want and what we need. incessant complaining won't make it happen any sooner.

If your thread isnt on the main first bit, or the second page, then its probrably not a very good thread, as it hasnt been active enough to stay on the main page. A search might be nice... But I for one, would never use it. Unless I was usnure if something I was posting had been posted before a lot.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC
