There seems to always be modded maps on Halo for PC. Why doesn't bungie take care of the lag and the cheating like they handle it with xbox live. I personally like xbox live better because there is no lag but another reason is that I can be walking around on blood gulch online in Halo for PC and all of the sudden I will end up on top of the map! Why doesn't bungie take care of these cheaters? I think that is is because you have to pay for xbox live and you don't have to pay for Halo on PC so bungie is only interested in those who are paying for their fun!!

You answered your own question. Bungie only fixes XBox live from cheaters because it costs money. They will never come back to PC for Halo 1. But who knows what will happen in the future. And people, please don't turn this into a "when's Halo 2 coming out?!" thread.

Modded maps are fair to everyone, its not a cheat. If you can fall through the top of the map, so can your opponent. The only way its deemed cheating is if one base has far more weapons/vehicles than the other base. A cluster of weapons in the center of the map and "trapdoors" in others are perfectly fair play.

Usually if you "fall" through the map, it's because of a lag issue, and the Host is not likely to have the same problem as you. If you randomly die and it says "You were killed by The Guardians" thats because of the host putting the "trapdoors" in places. Either way it is kind of cheap, because the host will of course do better than everyone.
And as for the more weapons problem? That happens all the time. The host allways starts out on red team, so the host can make red team have all the vehicles while blue team is stuck with nothing.

If you "fall" through the map, its actually a trapdoor, which instantly teleports you to the top of the map, where you fall to your death. Its not a cheat, its just that the host knows where each trapdoor is located, so he can avoid them easier than other players.

bungie cant do anything about the modded maps. The servers are run separate from bungie and gamespy, so there is no ability to regulate the maps, thus modding runs rampant.

hte only truly unmodded maps that are for a fact unmodded and wont be are on the bungie servers.

I don't know how Halo 2 Plays, but I know in PC you can join mid game and your not getting ranked for your kills or deaths. So therefore cheating in Halo PC doesn't really matter. If you see someone cheating on Halo PC just laugh at them because they really suck to have to cheat on Halo PC. Nothing matters in Halo PC unless your trying to get footage.

yoo•zel- ('yoo-zhul): slang: vb.

Officium quod Fidelitas.

I do believe that the maps and multiplayer are aspects that Gearbox should be addressing.
