there is no flash bang but now they upgraded the frag. so it also kill nerby enemys but it also knocks out ones that are jsut out of reach or the shrapnel projectiles from the granade itself

the reason it looked like a flashbang was because when he threw a frag into that room with the jackals and grunts he threw it in there and then stepped aside so you couldnt see it go off, im pretty sure thats what they are talking about.

i can see how it could trick you but flashbangs wouldnt work with the halo gameplay.

Yes actually flashbangs would work. Say you had been forced out of
a room by the covies, you could just chuck a flashbang in there and then
drop those idiots while they were stunned. flashbangs would work perfectly in
Halo 2

it would be a vaulauble asset in campaign but i think it would make multiplayer less "run n' gun" as halo usually is, i would much rather grab a shotgun, run into a room take out 2 or 3 guys and grab the flag than flash the room run in and grab the flag before they come too.

it would make it more exciting and it would incite more face to face battles without them.

Why not just use a frag. Most would die and the rest would be stunned.

They would have no effect in MP. The Spartans would be immune to them. Their armor would filter out the blast wave and their visors would darken.

the only plus to a flashbang would be you could kill more people with blunt force trauma.

I heard somewhere that the brute grenades were going to be some
kind of remote grenade, like you could stick some to the bottom of a warthog
and when someone got in, BOOM! That would be great.

oh my god. after watching the e3 2003 vid again, it definately looks like a flashbang, because you see a small explosion but then when the video clears you see probably around 3 grunts and a jackal covering their eyes runing around and on the radio in MC's head its like "CLEAR IT OUT" so sorrry for doubting you, i guess there might be flashbangs in h2

Mines require no skill to kill after you place them (sure youve got to pick a nice spot but its a fluke if people run over them) Mines really are very crap. And also that was a frag grenade hence the blood and the marine saying "Frag out!" (or frag and clear I cant remember)

BTW: Frags now have a stun feature on enemies if they are not in the lethal radius so thats why the grunts were stunned. You'll notice the blood too. Since when do flashbangs make you bleed? (except maybe your eyes)

Dammit, kids. It's not a flashbang.
Its a frag. The marine says "FRAG AND CLEAR"

its not a flashbang, its a stun grenade, a regular stun grenade, no flashes or anything.

For demonstrational purposes. You see the blood? They gave those particular NPCs fragmentation grenade invulberability. Also, the new frag confuses the enemy.

Its not a stun grenade either. ITS A -blam!- FRAG GRENADE.

stun grenade, isnt that pretty much the whole reason to have a flashbang. stun/blind them so you can get in and take them out.

It was a demo and a scripted event. Bungie wanted to show off the new characteristics of the Frags (stun effects).
