To be quite frank, smoke grenades are a waste of time in my opinion.

I really hope they just keep the two grenades to make it simple. Then it would get to annoying to have like four different grenades, pressing the black button alot.

We know they werent confirmed for the game but anythings possible.

Smokes may be good for making rocket matches extra crazy but I dont really see the point to them for campaign because you never really need to hide except when down on your shields but the covenant would just fire at the smoke in that case.

I wanted to give some reasons as to why I thought it was a good/bad idea rather than just say "no".

if your a good player they could come in handy. Imagine spawning and the very moment you do you throw a smoke nade in blood gultch. snipers would have a little bit of a problem now wouldnt they???

what if you get a shotgun and you throw 2-3 smke nades downstares in longest...think it would help your kill factor

what about in wizard? getting chased by someone and you cant shake em from going in and out of teleports? Throw some smoke nades and try then! I bet you could lose em in a flash!

see? offensive AND defensive reasons to include smoke nades in Halo 2. You guys read the idea and don't even think about it, all you want to do is be heard or act cool. ignorant fools!

ASH, right on man!

They do. They said so in the old FAQ before the site was updated.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah <TheBigC's head explodes>

Yes they do Sockman. Bungie said it. Look at the blood under the grunts after the marine throws the grenade. Stun/flashbangs don't cause you to bleed. Plus, the marine says "FRAG and clear!" Why does no one understand. There aren't fricken flashbangs in that video.

if it was a flash/bang then it was a really crappy one!

basically. If some one set off a frag grenade in your room but you werent in the actual kill radius do you think you wouldnt at least be stunned by the shock?

Anyway, back to the subject of "If they were to include smoke grenades."

I don't really think it would be good. People start to use them too much, and it would just stop people from having a nice firefight. If somebody threw a smoke grenade at me, I'd either go around the smoke, wait for it to dissipate, or go find myself someone else to shoot at. Otherwise, you pop out and they're shooting you from the side and you're dead before you even seem them. It's a good idea, but wouldn't fit into the run 'n' gun style of Halo.

Well its getting a little off topic but what if you were strapped to the floor or something. It would stun you yes? And thats why bungie added this to halo2. Because in real life, Frag grenades stun.

K now people who think that its a flash bang can see why its not a flash-bang.

hmm, if i was strapped to the floor, and a frag went of in the same room, I'd be in deep -blam!-. Thats quite a situation to imagine! I think shrapnel would be stuck in me, but never-the-less I would be stunned, cause I'd think...umm...shouldnt I be dead?

The effect isnt mental shock, its physical shock. Like a concussion or intense flash of light.

 • 07.27.2004 5:17 PM PDT

SB-117

yes the shrapnel would make you flinch and shocked for a little while...until you seek medical aid.
