Is there any way of creating a form of blacklist that eradicates all traces of the person involved? ie. destroys threads?

I am currently taking down quite a number of pages of spam threads, the spammer shall of course remain nameless in here... but is there anything else that can be done?

I presume so, when someone is Blacklisted there posts become unreadable so it shouldn't be too hard to change that to actually delete their posts. But then there's the problem that any serious topics they started would disappear and would probably be irretrievable....

The group now has 16 pages of posts... it used to have maybe 4... tops...

Ahhh, that's a problem... How quickly did this happen?

Threads by blacklisted users aren't deleted, only their individual posts (if they created the thread, you see the "This user has been blacklisted" message).

This is so that any worthwhile discussion that has occurred in bad people's threads might be salvaged. By blacklisting the user, you get rid of all his posts, so the damage goes away.

I know that the actual thread doesn't physically disappear, but Gaara wants the actual threads to be deleted when the user gets blacklisted, that's the way I read it anyway. But having an additional 12 pages of locked spam threads is going to make a group look pretty "messy" (for wont of a better word)

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

People who get blacklisted dont get blacklisted justd for spam to.

I have beenn Blacklisted for Politicaal and religious disscussions in the flood forum.

So its good that posts in that thread got banned, but i dont agree with posts in threads where no harm was done.

True... but say having a special option in blacklist that allows one to do so... in the event of major spamming.
