Ahh....the good old beach assault of Normandy. One of the best settings for movies and games. I think it would be extremely cool to have a Normandy-like level for Halo 2, but I doubt Bungie would do it since they should try to be original in their level design and such.

But on the top-pic of a Normandy level it could start a bit like this:
The Master Chief gets dropped in secretly before the Marines and ODSTs make the frontal assault and his objective is to take out all of the large Covenant gun emlplacements so the Marines wouldn't get slaughtered by heavy artillery. After he finishes that, he moves to near-by crater about half way up the beach head of where the Marines would make their landing. Once he reaches there, Cortana gives the signal for the Marines to make their assault on the beach head. To help draw some of the small arms fire from the Covenant while the Pelicans drop of the dozens of troops, the Master Chiefs distracts the Covenant by picking off some of the closer targets from a distance.

Once the Marines land the Master Chiefs begins to make his advance with them until they reach the point where they are below the Covenant guns, and out fo the way of the Covenant air raids. The Marines and the Master Chief than make an assault on the interior of the Covenant posistion to try to destroy their bunkers and additional gun emplacements while more Marines get dropped off on the beach head. After destroying the bunkers on the beach head the Marines and Master Chief hold posistion and wait for additional orders. Cortana gives them reports of a Covenant air raid very close by and tells them to run to a nearby abadoned building. The Master Chief and the Marines run as fast as the possibly can to this building. Just as the last Marine enters the interior of the abondoned building the air raid begins killing all of the trops on the beach head and causing a part of the building to collaspe which kills half of the Marines that were with the Master Chief.

Cortana then gives them additional reports of a Covenant ship which is releasing troops and bombers in a valley nearby. She says that a few UNSC Longswords would be able to get through as long they are save from ground hostiles. So, the Master Chief and the Marine's next job is to clear the surrounding ship of all hostilities on the ground. After having spent thousands of bullets on the Covenant hordes, the Longswords finally come in for bombing run on the Covenant ship and the Chief and his surviving Marines fly back to their home base on a Pelican.

Sound any good?

Yes, that idea is from Unreal Tournament. And secret tunnels under the base are cool, but you would still have to set up sentry guns or it would be to easy. But with turruts, it would be awesome. Oh, and another cool thing for the Assault level would be teleports. like in Timesplitter 2, after you got a certain distance up the hill, you could start out there. I think it would be cool if when you respawned, you were at like your crashed Pelican, and then as you advance up the hill, portals start opening back at the ship, so you don't have to walk the whole way.

Keep the awesomeness coming.

Ok, got another one. It's set in the crater of an extinct volcano. There are two towers, each one partially submerged. The flags are at the top, and they can be seen from the other base. Players can decide whether they want to snipe, or they can jump in a water-modified Warthog (I can dream.), and drive the boat (Complete with a turret on the back) over to the other base. The other option, is that they can go underwater, and just walk to the opposing teams base. Oh, and they could also go into their base, and enter an underground tunnel to the enemie's base. It would also be cool to have a Ghost-like water vehicle. So you could go really fast. =D

throwing somebody off the moon would be very very hard. You would need a rather large rocket. 1/6 gravity is still alot, figure a 200 lb person, they weigh about 33lbs, (wihtout space suit etc.) So imagine being able to throw a 33 pound weight a mile into the air.(not an exact number but you would need to get out of the range of most of the moons gravity) Even without air resistance it would still be very hard. A rocket launcher blast is not going to do it.

You have to put them on a web site. Nice, thanks everyone, keep them coming. How about a hallway for an MP level. Its long and has side pasages and mabey a second level, like Longest but better. It would have more defendable positions, and things to hide behind. How about modified Halo MP levels. Any ideas for those?

Here's an idea for a multiplayer map:

A map similiar to Blood Gulch or Battle Creek, with one base with several floors on each side. The bases would hold some great sniping spots. Between the bases there would be an almost plain field, with almost nothing to hide behind. On the edges, there would be tunnels so that you could sneak across.
On various points in the map there would be entrances to an underground complex. The entrances leads to quite simple and uninteresting tunnels. But the tunnels leads to an underground structure that is several stories deep. The interior of this structure would be maze like. And the walls would be mirrors. (imagine the confusion!). In this 'mirror house' all the good weapons and powerups would be, so it would be the best way to cross the map.
The map could also be 4 way or 8 way. Or completely without surface, just a mirrorhouse.

This made me think of an easter egg that would be cool. If there are mirrors in single player (not mirrorhouses), there could be like one mirror in a place that is hard to get to, that doesn't show MC as he really is, but like the old master chief. Or a grunt. Or an elite.

That reminds me of a Halo 2 level DaElAlTH2. In one of the levels there's an underground area.

What about in Hang em' High, there's a big tower in the middle, and one more muti-layered level in one of the corners.

Here's a good MP level really good for Single Flag CTF or some attack/defend game. Its a little like BG (to give you an idea). On one side, the attackers have a little bunker, and all the weapons are in it, and you spawn in there. Out side is the vechiles-Banshee, Worthog, Ghost, ATV, and a Shadow (if its in MP). On the other side is the defenders. They have a two-story bunker with four turrets, two one each story, facing the attackers base. And on the outside, close the the bunker, is two little platforms (one on each side), but are hidden (from the wall, like Battle Creek). What ever side your on, you cant see the other base. That might be too many vechiles.

Here's another MP level, its Covenant looking. There's two towers floating in space. There's a big bridge that connects them at the bottom, and a little one-man bridge up higher. Thus creating big battles, and someone can sneak accross, and it works for CTF. One team starts on one tower, and the other at the other tower. But sense there's more than 2 teams in Halo 2, mabey there would be four towers.

A Normandy Beach assault would be really cool. Like at first you and the marines can hold the beach pretty well, but then all of a sudden a huge wave of covenant soldiers bear down on you. Marines are yelling stuff from their machine guns like, "I'm running low on ammo." All seems lost when a huge covenant dropship is shot down right above you by a jet or something and it crashes into the covenant armies that are right in front of you. It'll be like a nuke going off and most of the covenant will be killed. Then the marines and you hop over the wall and finish off the stragglers.

and for MP I'd make a level very similar to Blood gulch except those new explosive barrels would rool down the cliffs and across the canyon. It would be sort of like a halfpipe and the barrels would keep going until they blew up. If the barrels hit a person or a vehicle they'd blow. Imaginine trying to get the flag back in CTF with enemies chasing you and dodging exploding barrels...

Yes, it would be soo crazy. You'd have a whole bunch of ammo laying everywhere so when you run out, you can get more. It would be a fun slaughtering level.

How about a Battlefield Vietnam level. Both teams start out with veichles on oppossite sides, and inbetween is good stronghold points (turrets, etc.). Some sort of jungle/forest level. Banshee's, Worthog's, Ghost's, and ATV's would be the mode of transportation. Mabey other veichles too, ones we dont know about.

Level inspired by Chronicles of Riddick:

on that one planet in Riddick, it was so close to the sun that the side of the planet exposed to the sun would be aflame. In halo 2 a similar level could be a radiation site where your shield would drain slowly just from being outside, above ground, etc. So not only would you be fight flood, you're shield wouldn't be able to charge unless you were in a safe place.

I wouldn’t mind a level where you play as an elite and destroy an earth city. Then the very next one you go in as master chief and fix the problem. I just think it’d be cool to play the campaign from the point of view of the covenant.

How about a level where there's water all over, with 8 islands, 1 base each, and a banshee in each island for dogfights all over.

In the spirit of Joe Staten's E32K4 presentation, here's one of my map ideas.

Location: Subterranean Shopping Center #1902, Pheonix, Arizona, United States of America
Briefing: Covenant Elite units have taken a special interest in this mall - it directly connects to UNSC Marine Regional Command HQ. They have already breached the far end of the mall - you will have 3.37 klicks of open space to stop them in. The only cover comes in the form of a large fountain in the center of the mall, scattered benches and artifical plants, and visibility is high. However, you can easily break into the shops lining the walls, where you will find plenty of concealment if not cover (especially in the clothing racks) and even high-powered assault weapons in the "Autumn's Armory" gun shop located half-way down the corridor on the second level. The second level consists of walkways lining each wall, with pillars supporting them that could be used as cover if you take up positions on the bottom level. Fortunately, all civilians have been evacuated and stationary machinegun turrets have been set up at the end of the corridor, at the fountain, and on most of the bridges between the two upper walkways. Luring Covenant onto the motion-activated commuter treads in the center of the corridor is a good tactic, but watch out for Elites emerging from the complex web of maintenance tunnels and interconnected storefronts behind you. Keep the enemy out of HQ or the entire state will be overrun. Good luck, Spartans.
