I was watching the part of the E3 2004 video about boarding and I realized something. You have to press X to get on the vehicle and then hit X again to kick out the other person. What if you only press X once and stay on for the ride? Theoretically, you could have a ghost with one person on each wing and someone on the back and just cruise around. The only way that wouldn't work is if you have a certain time limit to hit X a second time.

i don't remember him saying anything about having to press X twice. I'm pretty sure you only have to press it once.

You definitely have to press X twice. It's right there in the video.

Hmmm. Maybe your right. It just seemed like there was a pause when he jumps on the vehicle where you have to press X again to actually hit them out. Maybe the whole sequence just takes a few seconds so the driver has a little bit of time to react.

It was only for the warthog that you have to press it twice. He said you can go up to the drver and press 'x' once and pull the driver out.

I don't know if I like how you automatically get to jack the vehicle. You should at least get to try to fight the guy off so that you can keep whatever it is you are driving.

you have to be moving slow enough for him to be able to jack the vehicle. it just forces you to move around a bit.

If you get boarded its your fault for driving slow enough for them to get you.

Somewhere I read that in single-player you have to press x twice to hijack the vheicle but in mp you have to press it once.

That sounds more possible. I wouldn't want to sit on the hood of a covenant controlled vehicle for too long.

January 30, 2004 (Warthog's Day)
The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

In the E3 2004 demo you press X once for the Ghost, but you have other options for the Warthog. And yes in SP the boarding will be more complicated.

Jaime Jams

Jaime says they've finished adding "boarding" seats to all the vehicles. That means that quite apart from the vehicle-jacking stuff, every vehicle that can be boarded, sat on or otherwise utilized, now has functioning seats for real-life multiplayer and AI single-player modes. One thing hardly anyone at E3 noticed, was that when you board a Warthog, instead of taking over the driver seat immediately, you simply yank the driver out you then have to hop into the Warthog manually. A two-stage process designed to create interesting encounters on the slightly more boardable Hog.[/color]

I think that means you can go on to yank out the passenger if you so desire or gunner. Same as the Brute did in the E3 2003 demo.
