Here are some problems I've found with some of the weapons in halo 2.
1) The SMG fires 5X23mm caseless bullets which are very small and probrably similar to stabbing someone with an icepick due to the very high velocity generated by the caseless ammo. The magazine doesn't appear to be able to hold 60 rounds either. There is also no need for caseless ammunition unless the firing rate would be too fast to cycle the bolt and eject the casing in time to fire the next round, that would have to be at least a couple thousand rounds per minute.
2) The battle rifle fires 9.5X40mm rounds which should have about the same kenetic energy as a .44 magnum bullet. The assault rifle from halo 1 fired 7.62X51mm armor-piercing bullets that can drop a man wearing full body armor in a single shot. The only way the battle rifle could be more powerful is if it uses special ammo such as armor piercing limited penetration or high explosive rounds. But the velocity of the round would still barely be high enough to get the bullet 120 meters down range. Which means the scope on top of the carrying handlewould be basically useless. I also don't see an ejection port on the battle rifle unless its that little hole on the stock.
3) The shotgun fires 8 gauge magnum rounds which would create recoil much to heavy for a standard issue combat shotgun. Also the twelve round magazine is unbelievable. Twelve 3.5" 8 gauge shells would weigh a ton, and would make the weapon very hard to aim.
PS halo and halo 2 are my favorite games in the whole world. and i know they're fake and set in the future so dont get pissed off.
