If you're interested, I did develop a list of what I believe are the only undisputed facts thus far about Halo 2 and there are links and citings for most of the information here. With so much misinformation and speculation out there, I thought it would be novel to create a page for another board I attend just to set the record straight. You may not agree with everything on the page, but the vast majority of information has been completely confirmed by Bungie or its press contacts, and some of it is based on information we have acquired through Bungie's screens, renders and videos. Also, I decided not to include any obvious graphical or programming information, but only information that pertains to the physical story and characters of Halo 2.

(Note: There has been some speculation on whether a version of the M6D Pistol will be in the sequel, as they have yet to be in specific screens, however there is evidence for the M6D Pistol, using it's scope in a screen saver during one of the interviews on the X03 video at time point 6:34, this coupled with its popularity make it noteworthy)

* "Vehicle Takeover" (players will be able to hi-jack certain vehicles while they are in-use by another player, and steal the vehicle)
* Sprinting/Zooming (players will be able to increase in running/driving/flying speed by holding down a specific button, which now also works with certain vehicles as well)

* Interactive Environments (players will be able to interact with the environments, such as moving structures for cover or eliminating light sources)
* "Gaze Tracking" (player's heads will now focus on certain objects and other players around them and independent of their body)
* Melee Combos (players will be able to construct a variety of strictly melee attacks with weapons)
* Multiplayer on Live will include at least 16 people
* Multiplayer game types will consist of the previous game types (Slayer, Team Slayer, Capture The Flag, King Of The Hill, Oddball) and a new game type called "Assault" (the player's team must either carry a bomb into the opposing team's base, or defend it from the same threat)
* Multiplayer will have four teams (Red, Blue, Green, Gold)
* Multiplayer will allow you to play as not only Spartans, but also Elite Covenant warriors (rumor has it that other characters like Brutes will also be playable)

dude, your presumed co-op in campaign pic, thats wrong, if you actually look at the pic you can tell its multiplayer. the guy in the back is red, and since the spartans armor is naturally green, that means it multiplayer. its ok though, easy mistake

First off, the picture states presumed because it is in fact presumed. Secondly co-op and multiplayer are the same thing. In order for it to be co-op it must be multiplayer, therefore if I state it's co-op then it's automatically multiplayer.

The reason I stated it was "presumed" is because the majority of people who I've talked to who have seen the picture believe that it is co-op and that either the picture in the back is hazy and the Spartan is not "red" (but just appears to from that distance with the dust in the air) or that, obviously, you can edit your color during Campaign Mode (something not too impossible to program and something probable for campaign).

Either way, it can be tagged as co-op because it incorporates team-play during a multiplayer battle.

well first, co-op and multiplayer are 2 entirely different things. co-op meaning you and a partner are working together going through the story against the covenant, and multiplayer is when you play against or with a lot of people, which is how the pic is. second, if you zoom in on the guy in the back, its pretty clear that he's red. three, you wont be able to change your color for campaign because your going through the actual story as master chief, and in the story, his armor is green.

but other than that, good post!

Co-op is actually multiplayer, if you're referring to Slayer or Team Slayer then that is one thing, but stating "multiplayer" is a fairly blanket-term. Red or not, that doesn't detract one iota from my claim that it is "presumed" to be Co-op mode. Whether it really is or not cannot be directly discerned from that screen. What can be is that it appears to be four Spartans working together, which is in fact cooperation.

It should be added with the end of First Strike the way it is it's entirely likely that there will be more than one Spartan in Halo 2 in some aspects. This with our knowledge of existing games that support four-player co-op on Live (ie. Rainbow Six 3) make it entirely possible (however improbable) that Halo 2 may incorporate other Spartans as multiple players during co-op missions. My statement showing it is presumed is just that, a presumption (not even really mine, but an overwhelming amount of others I've spoken to) on what the picture is. It's only a link to a screen, with a presumption in the name, that is all.

It wasn't fun to write either, but there's unfortunately no guarantee that the exact weapons will be returning. More than likely by the looks of it there will be a different model number/name for most of the weapons returning...

Co-op is actually multiplayer

You're splitting hairs. When people say Co-op, they mean cooperative play in campaign mode, and you know it.

All Co-op is multiplayer, but not all multiplayer is Co-op.

You can use the word multiplayer for Co-op, but not the word Co-op for multiplayer.

Alright, alright. I editted it to read something which apparently is more plausible for the members of this board. The rock textures are the same as the alleged previous Burial Mounds screen and it matches the birds-eye-view-sketch of said map in Game Informer article so I'll say it's presumed Burial Mounds. Despite the fact that I believe Co-op on Live will be a functioning fixture of the game.
