I was just thinking it would be a good idea if certain members, granted the right by a mod, could delete their own threads. Just incase you accidently submitted twice or saw a thread similar to it already up. Or you could delete if things get out of hand say with a flame war so the mods have a little less work to do. They wouldn't have to break up a fight if there wasn't anywhere to argue. Mods would grant this right to members that would not abuse it. I think this would be a good way of controlling the pile up of threads. What do you guys think?

yoo•zel- ('yoo-zhul): slang: vb.

Officium quod Fidelitas.

Mods = not paid employees, I'm not going to grant 500 deletions a day when I can do it myself... On another note, it wouldn't be a bad idea for people to be able to delete their own threads. It'd save us time from locking/deleting posts that just say 'nvm'.

Yea... Not bad of an idea but one thing...

Let's say a spammer just spammed up a forum but wanted it to delete it. We're going to let him get away with it? I think not but that's just me..

The problem is that people could spam up the forums (or break any other rules) and then delete their threads, so they wouldn't get in trouble.

I'd be forced to say no.
Lets say some one was aspiring to become a moderator and really didnt follow the rules very well so he deleted the threads that he broke the rules in and some of the offences were serious and he eventually got promoted to moderator status then we would have a moderator who wasnt honest and we didnt know ity

That would never happen. It takes quite a bit to be a moderator here. Deleting your bad/spamming threads won't tip the balance one way or the other.

Well that is the job of the Moderators...but maybe Bungie could create another security role for members who are not moderators but are responsible...the Moderators would be able to watch/oversee what happens. But would not have to do a lot of work.

I think people would create debate threads, then, the second someone made a good point against it, the person would delete it.

Also, I prefer having locked threads to give links to to give examples of what not to do, etc.

I don't know what to think, but giving someone you know who can't be trusted, privs is not good.

Edit:Sorry guys, was checking my stuff with my gamertag account.

-Quaere verum.

Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Deleting threads would be a bad idea. If someone broke the rules, they could delete it before a mod saw it. I had the same idea a few months ago, that's what i was told.

Well the power would be granted to responsible members, but still someone could play off as a good member and then do the whole spam then cover your tracks thing. Thanks for your input guys.
