I am interested in making some money and will build computers for those who don't know how, don't have the time to, or just don't want to buy an over-priced computer from a company such as dell. If you let me build a computer for you, I would let you tell me what specs you want on your computer, or what you will be using it for so I can help you find out what specs you want for your computer. If you are interested in this opportunity, e-mail me at bladingfr3ak@insightbb.com.

Macs are ok. Dell customer service sucks, since you get some damn Indian guy on the phone from India who cant even speak English. I like building my own computers. You can get more out of a PC then Dell will ever give you. Alienwares arent overpriced, the technology they use is damn expensive, and if you built a computer from scratch with the same stuff, it would be well over their prices.

Mac is also switching to the Intel x86 architecture, so we may be seeing Windows XP running on Macs, and Mac OSX running on Windows computers.

I can't begin to comprehend how naive that statement was.

I built a pc from scratch, and compared it to an Alienware of the exact same specs in their online build-a-pc menu. Guess what? Mine was over 50% less. Not overpriced? WTF, man...

Alienware's technology is no different than the rest out there. Their 3200+ is the same as mine, their X850XT the same as mine. The difference? I have better RAM, a better mobo, a better case, better watercooling and far better overclocking...

If you build your own pc's, I thought you'd be a bit more knowledgable with the manufactured market and pc's in general. How can you say, without honestly lying, that Alienware is cheaper than building your own with the same specs? There's nothing special about them! They don't use uber-technology! It's the same stuff on newegg that every gamer in the world has!

I've never had to use dells customer service, so i don't know if it's crap or not. If it is crap, it's because not enough people have used it to complain, therefore meaning their product might not be so screwed up you need to call every week.

You only get the crap graphics card if you don't pay for the better ones, like an X850XT. When i got my dell (about christmas 2004), they had way better components compared to some of the other pc makers (Hewlett Packard, Gateway, Sony). I never saw DDR2 RAM in any of those other companies PC's.

I know that AOL uses indian people for their customer service. Funny thing is, those indians can help fix the problem hell of a lot more than the american AOL customer service people.

>>What you been smoking? Windows, you wont see on macs, you really think microsoft would allow that? or even apple, for that matter.

Actually you might be seeing Windows on Macs. Windows uses the Intel x86 architecture, and Apple is switching to this. Microsoft doesnt care if you run Windows on a Mac, as long as they get their money. Apple doesnt care if you run Windows on these new Macs, as long as you buy a Mac computer. I've talked to people and they say they are going to Tri-Boot Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX on these new Intel PowerMacs as I've heard them to be called. Yeah I redid my sums. Guess I was thinking in the olden days 0_o. w00t! I am an idiot!

Actually, not every gamer in the world has two GeForce 6800 Ultras running in SLI, which is about 445$ a card on newegg for some brands. Not every gamer has an 800$ AMD Dual Core processor 0_o. If you have that hardware, man, you really have a dream machine. Also, I'm not one to look into the latest and greatest of computer hardware to often. If you ask me, getting the best is a waste of money. I'm happy with waiting for things to come down in price.

Not every alienware uses dual-cores and uses a SLI setup. Where did you get that idea? They sell from 2800+ to X2 4800+, from 9550SE to dual 6800 Ultras.

All I said was that you can easily compare an Alienware and a homebuilt pc that share the same specs and see that the Alienware is more expensive. I just configured an alienware to mimic my pc's specs. Mine was built for $1300. The Alienware would supposedly be $1900. That doesn't include the fact that my pc is running on a Thermaltake Armor, far better than their cases, and on an Asetek Waterchill Triple.

They DON'T use their own special and unique uber-tech. You can buy the components from an online warehouse like newegg, they're available to everyone.
You missed the point of what I said entirely, and I'll say it again: Alienware is overpriced for what you get. You can build the same pc for cheaper on your own.

i read somewhere that although the macs are using a x86 architecture, they are taking measures to make sure that mac osx doesnt end up on pcs. perhaps the cpu is the same way? i really dont know, but according to logic, they wouldnt want pc users using mac os....

but you guys know businesses..... or rather you dont, which is the whole point im making lol
