1.) Marines that can use a sniper effectively. I hate it when the marines fire the sniper as fast as they can reload and don’t even take down an enemy.
2.) More variance in encounters with the Covenant. After playing through a few levels in Halo, the encounters start to be somewhat predictable. I would like to see the Covenant shake things up a bit and use something that might border on strategy, instead of just running forward and firing.
3.) Be able to turn off the auto-aim completely. It bugs me when I’m sniping and have a bead on an elite when a grunt walks in front and jerks the circle away from the intended target.
4.) Marines that use cover. They duck and roll, but they never seem to think of hiding behind something to shoot.
5.) Marine skills increasing with the difficulty. In Legendary a marine struggles to kill a Grunt. Come on…
6.) More outdoor levels. Probably too late for this.
7.) Covenant communication. One of the most annoying things about Halo was that you would slaughter some Covenant in one room, and then you’d get to the next and they’d all be asleep. You would think they might notice that a giant green cyborg was smashing through their base.
8.) Different types of Covenant displaying different traits on the battlefield. I don’t mean Jackals fighting differently from Hunters, I mean veteran Elites fighting differently than rookie Elites, instead of just being stronger. Veteran Grunts shouldn’t run away as fast as regular Grunts, rookie Elites charging blindly forward while veterans fire from cover, et cetera.
9.) Not getting in a warthog every time you reload next to one. Maybe have to hold X longer to get in a vehicle, because it makes it impossible to use a vehicle for cover.
10.) Marines employing strategies. Instead of just jumping around and firing, I would like to see Marines use tactics. For example, use cover fire to advance on the enemy position and take out the rest with frags.
11.) Marines attacking different enemies in different ways. For example, using frags to break up groups of grunts, encircling jackals so they lose the advantage of their shields.
12.) Being able to drive Wraiths. Wouldn’t it be great? They do it in First Strike, what not in Halo 2?

Anyways, just some ideas of mine. Some of them it’s too late for, if they haven’t already been put in, but I think some of them could be added still. I have way too much time on my hands now that I broke my ankle.

Feedback on any of these ideas will be appreciated, be it positive or negative. What do you think?

about the auto aim thing ... i've not noticed it really .... at all .. i've noticed im a really good shot in halo somewhat compared to other games ... but i play it alot more ... and when friends come over i slaughter them .... i dunno maybe im dumb :P

13) Turn off the HUD before my TV is totaly wrecked. (Halo already half way wrecked it)
14) Muzzle Cortana. Next thing she'll be telling me to pull over and ask for directions. Besides, my wife is getting jealous.
15) So many levels or levels so big I can not possibly finish in my lifetime and will never have to go back to the real world. ;-)

yea you are dumb. lol. jj. but your aimer does have slight following abilities. it made me feel so pro the first time i played! i was a little bit crushed tho when i found out my skillz wern't as crazy as i thought they where.

16) Being able to reload when your in the warthog beside the conductor/ in the tank
17) Adding a better ragdoll effect
18) Change the grenade throwing animation when you are in the warthog
19) Make a sort of tank that 2 people could get in ... not only to be transported like the actual tank

20) The ability to lie down flat.
21) The ability to stay crouched or out flat without holding the joystick pushed down.
22) The ability to climb or scale walls and obstacles.

23)maybe having an aquatic vehicle, wont happen though
24)better wound effects on marines, or even JUST wound effects. h1 had none, which is crap.

I absolutely hate reloading by a vehicle. You get in it, go oh that was dumb of me, get out, and move a little and it happens over again. Then you go so pissed that you just flip the thing over with a grenade and it bounces back at you and you die. I definatly didn't like that. The hold the button longer idea is great. Just like picking up a gun - I'd agree with that.

I also agree with the ragdoll effect. Like they hit a slant in the wall, and fall so they're almost sitting down and their body is tilted sideways. That's way more realistic - and the fact that they wouldn't disapear would be great too. I hate the fact that in almost all games the people disapear after a few seconds. How about a minute or 2 atleast?

25) The ability to possibly change armor colors in a new level for camoflauge purposes. For Example: if it's a nighttime level, I'd want to be able to wear black armor. If it's a snowy level, I'd wanna wear white armor. Even from really far away, Covenant can spot you even if your head is barely viewable.

26) To increase protection, I'd like to be able to pick up a Jackal's shield when it dies and use it.

Not really, dumb***.

If you read the books (which you probably didn't), their shield is a band on their arm w/ two buttons. One button turns on the shield, the other button deactivates it.

Those twelve things were good ideas, especially about the rookie/vet covies and the better AI for the marines. But alot of these things are gonna be in H2

I agree with everything except number 3. I think that it is more realistic that when you get hit things jolt up a bit. But that's just my opinion.

To the guy who said that the marines can't use the sniper rifle, put them in a warthog and all of a sudden Elites of all colors and sizes start to whistle when they run from him.(That is, they have holes in them.) Also, it would be freakin' peachy if one could lay a land mine. And finally, Wouldn't it be the coolest damn thing if you could play dead. It would have to be a combination of buttons you pressed and held until the master chief fell seemingly dead, and when someone or something walks into the room you're "Dead" in, WAM!! ya' iced their girly asses without them even knowing who or what in the hell just happened. Oh, and it would be kick Ass if the Master Chief could use a light shield. For cover and as a melee weapon.

yeah as for marines using cover, i read that in H2 they can flip things over to hide behind, so your teammates wont be so dumb this time around

In Halo 2 there will be 4 teams Gold,Blue,Red,Green but you guys already knew that I bet.

i completely agree with you on the marines. after going through halo ona all difficulties with all your friends and alone the game gets kinda lonely on 1 player. and you want to work with the marines and you try to be cool and save them but alas all they do is draw fire. on legendary i've watched as 5 of them surround a grunt and struggle to kill it. with better marine AI the game's longevity will really be extended.

I dont really want this but i would be cool.
To be able to chnage you body armor to make you go faster but be weaker or see father witht he sinper but have like slower reaction time. and so on and so on. But i dotn want these things it would be cool just not fun

somthing really cool would be able to go prone, hold more weapons than 2 like 2 sub machine guns and 2 plasma pistols would be awsome and to have like a rocket launcher on the atv like in the front and a machine gun on the side or just a machine gun so when your driving having fun you wont be owned by a grunt because you cant defend yourself also it would be a little more realistic if when u were jumping out of a car ghost etc. you would recieve damage and for the last thing it would be cool if they but banshees and wraits and pelicans in multiplayer

I would love for the after action screens during multiplayer to be a lot more informative. Also, I would like the same thing after campaign missions...that would just be sweet. I also think a very good idea would be to make the marines (when applicable) sort of gain levels in a sense. No, i'm not saying lets make halo into an RPG...but something like what bungie did with the myth series...any veteran troops that survived the level previous would (when applicable) carry over to the next level and would be smarter, stronger, BETTER. It would give you more of an insentive to try to keep your marines alive.
