The point I was trying to make was there are 0 members in that Group, and the news was apparantely posted by nobody. Speaking of strange Group happenings, somebody just left my Group and instead of registering one loss it registered three (yes, I counted up each individual member to be sure).

The guy made a group and then left. Simple as that.

Heh. Weird... Usualy if people completely abandon a chapter, it's made unviewable. A computer glitch perhaps?

Umm... Ack... I think I just deleted that chapter.

I joined it to see whether it was a glitch or not, and then promptly left it when I was the only member with no admin priviliges; but I didn't notice the message telling me that my leaving would disband the group... o_o

I think I have a solution.

For the news - It is possible that the account of whoever created the news got deleted because of inactivity (or any other purpose). I guess the system can't remember the name, so in place of the author of the new story, it is just blank.

As for the members - Same thing. There must have been one person left in the group. The account must have gotten deleted because of inactivity or any other purpose. I guess the group didn't get deleted because of that, even though there are zero (0) members.

Whether he is right or not is not known for sure. However, he did have a very good hypothesis.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

Normally, the last person leaving a group will disband it. However, if the members just get deleted due to inactivity, the group can show up with zero members for a while. You can still join if it is open, and eventually, the system will auto-assign admin privs to whoever has been the longest and/or has the highest security privs. Or, the group will get "garbage collected" and auto-deleted.

In this case, Sir Fragula joined the group to investigate it, but his leaving it manually deleted the group. The current error is a result of cached data still being valid (occassionally happens, but not often), but the non-cached parts (security info) aren't available. Eventually, the cache will expire and the group not found error will replace the "Security Role Cache" error.
