Since your computer is new and it probably doesn't have much important data on it I'd suggest reinstalling your operating system. Make sure you format the hard disk (you'll need a copy of Windows for this).

Also maybe you could check your hard disk for errors. Use the windows disk cleanup utility or defragmenter. It would be helpful if you specified what version of Windows you have.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

The rewards are not necessary. If you play HPC, we're here to help.

Matt, if it's a new ASUS, he's probably running Win7. Most likely 64-bit. I never encountered this problem on my Win7 64 system, but maybe someone else here has.

Yeah, I agree. It's probably a Windows 7 PC. But, regardless, he should format his hard disk or check it for errors.

Have you been to the ASUS website? Have you contacted ASUS support? I suggest you go to the website and request help.

They reply in about 48 hours. You should try it.

Here you can enter your product type/model/series:
http://support.asus.com/techserv/techserv.aspx?SLanguage=en-u s

On the new page scroll down and click "enter" under technical inquiries. Then you'll be able to describe your problem.

Yeah that might just be the problem, but when my Halo Combat Evolved is installed I can install it as this user and run the game as an admin. and then update the online patches as an admin. So that may not be the problem.

You should also set yourself permanently as the Administrator so you don't have this problem again.

Here are easy instructions on how to enable hidden admin account in Windows 7 and Vista:

Yes but remember if you try to unlock the hidden admin account through Command Prompt sometimes it says access denied, because you're not an administrator believe me I tried. I can tell you if there is another way you probably wont have the same problem. I didn't say you wouldn't have the same problem though, there's just a very slim chance.

You need to right click the cmd and select run as administrator.

Then you can "unlock" the hidden administrator account.

The instructions are in the How to Geek tutorial I posted a link to.
