This is a dead account.

Finding no other existing topics about Forge (Marathon) that were adequate, I create a new one. I myself am new to Marathon, having recently discovered it on Bungie Forums.
http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=40058407
I strongly encourage everyone to play it. We really want more players here on netgames XD Sign up for an account here on the last remaining dedicated servers for Marathon:
http://www.mariusnet.com
MAKE SURE YOU ABIDE BY ALL THEIR RULES AND READ THEIR POLICIES

I also want the community for Marathon to grow again as I plan to design a new scenario for it...

Okay, so now to my problem :P
I understand that Marathon is native to Mac OS 7 or System 7, whatever you call it. Here is my reference:
http://source.bungie.org/wiki/index.php/Utilities

They told me to get an emulator such as Basilisk II to run Forge. Now, with Basilisk up and running 7.3, it does not recognize the Forge.app file that a new intel mac would complain as a "Classic" file that is not supported. In fact, its not even there. Then, I am also worried since everyone is using AlephOne to run Marathon. Can you help me with my emulator? Can you tell me whether Forge is even COMPATIBLE with AlephOne, if so, how do you transfer the files to AlephOne?

Oh yeah, to the old timers here i would like to show all due respect cuz im playing Kindergarten, so im a Spazeroid XD
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Eh, you aren't likely to get much help with Forge here. I personally haven't spent much time trying to get it to work, so I can't help you.

If I were you I would ask around the Pfhorums. Check out this subforum there, something on this has probably been posted. Oh, and if you actually get it to work and were to write up a guide on how to do so, I would gladly include it in the installation guide (I have a post reserved for such an occasion).

Additionally, have you tried getting Anvil to work?

Oh and about that scenario... unfortunately I've heard that time and time again. A person discovers Marathon, and their enthusiasm is such that they want to make their very own scenario. Unfortunately such enthusiasm wanes over time, and you eventually call it quits and release what artwork and maps you have completed to the public for their use.

My recommendation is to work on a much smaller project first, then after a while if you are still enthusiastic and really think you can pull it off, try for your own scenario. Scenarios are an incredible amount of work.

Thanks. I really appreciate the help. Yes, you are correct, I realize that a scenario is pretty much masterpieces of a Marathon game, but its not all that bad if I don't have to mess around with code that much. Anvil doesn't work either BTW. But thanks to you link, Weland is off to a good start already :) Too bad it doesn't have a visual mode, but as they say: "nuke and pave!"
