Ok, thanks to a nice Mr. Matt Smith (Smeeisqualityfootrot), I've figured out where the problem is that's keeping Eternal from running on OS9 and, possibly, SDL as well. It turns out my motion sensor sprites were _one pixel_ too small and that made Aleph VERY VERY ANGRY.
So I've fixed it. It now runs perfectly fine under OS9, but I can't test it under SDL because I don't have a PC. So, if you would like to test it under SDL, please download the normal lores Eternal package (if you haven't already) here:
http://eternal.psyjnir.net/files/Application/Releases/Eternal 1OSX128.sit
(replace 128 with 256 or 512 if you want higher-res textures)
and the SDLified Map and Images files here:
http://eternal.psyjnir.net/files/Application/EternalMkI_SDL_D ata.sit
(put them in the Eternal folder and replace the ones already there)
and the new, fixed Shapes file here:
http://eternal.psyjnir.net/files/Application/FixedShapes.sit
(replace the old one, of course)
and of course, a copy of Aleph One for your platform from here:
http://source.bungie.org/
(put that in the Eternal folder too)
Now all that should, IN THEORY, make Eternal run under the Windows or Linux versions of Aleph One. Please let me know.
ATTENTION OS 9 USERS - If you have already downloaded an Eternal OSX package to try to see if it will run, and still have it around, all you need is the fixed shapes file and an OS9 copy of Aleph One. If you haven't already downloaded it, a set of packages that work for both OS9 and OSX will be up later today.
