I found this on one of my old demo disks from oxm in a Halo 2 documentary."There was this scene that will go down in untold lore of bungie which Meranda strapped a bomb to the Master Chief’s back and shoved him down a hole." -Joseph Staten, Writer/Cinematics DirectorI was wondering if anyone knew who Meranda was, as I haven't read the books. The documentary is on oxm disk #28.From the end of The Silent Cartographer:"Halo is HONEYCOMBED with tunnels..." -CortanaI'm sure the Cortana quote is of no significance, but I just thought it was interesting.
good catch, you can probobly just assume that meranda is the guys gf who he broke up with.... of course i dont know why he would use the name meranda unless it was a character they planed to use... this should go in the speculation thread
OK if you friggen listened to what he said after.. you wouldve heard him say that Jason was going through a rough breakup.. Meranda being his g/f and the MC being him.. its called symbolism ppl.. bungie loves it

I'm sure Joe would've openly talked about Jason's relationship problems for a documentary. *rolls eyes*
i'm thinkin Miranda is probably someone's G/F and not actually in the game.
It does talk about Jason and his girlfriend after my quote, I just didn't think it was significant to continue the quote.
yea.... and vile BLAM BLAM STOP SPAMING
in this same documentary did any on catch a quote from some other bungie guy that went something along the lines of: "we wanted to give it history we ther to be damage from some battle that happened 900,000 years ago" then what looks like an in game pass of an area that seems to be covered with covenant debris (busted ships fallen buildinges etc.) any thoughts
I heard somewhere the Miranda is also the name of a legendary sword, much like Durandal or Cortana.
Miranda was an early idea as they said in the doc. Plus bungie would reval something big like a scene of betrayal.
We went through this a long time ago. No one really knows but Bungie, which means we'll have to wait and find out :)Maybe she's another Spartan. Maybe she's another AI. Maybe she's another Marine/ODST?Who knows?
here is the exact quote Marcus Lehto: We really want it to feel like that there was a history, there was a, uh, there’s damage, that existed from some battle that happened 900,000 years ago.
I thought it had to do with someone at Bungie who is a co-creator for the game who had a break up in his life and created a cutscene to symbolize it and they omitted it from whatever
