Please read this carefully.
I have been seeing many, many threads speculating an early release of Halo 2.
It's not going to happen....
I work at a national chain of department stores, I won't say which one, but I will tell you it is in the Top 20. Today I went into marketing and did a little research. I wanted to see if there was any indication that the I Love Bees countdown was in any way connected to Halo 2's release.
It is not.
The marketing division has many cool things that are Halo 2 related in, but everything is dated for November 9th. There are even little orange stickers with the Halo 2 logo, that aren't even going out until almost August. All of the signs point to Microsoft not even being done manufacturing them all until November 5th or 6th. Many of the stores will get the shipments of the game around November 7th or 8th. With explicit instructions not to sell them until the 9th.This is a large corporation. The amount of money that retailers would burn by having to rework their schedules and shipping times, and changing lading are just too great. Especially for something as anticipated as this launch. Neither Bungie nor Microsoft would cause as much cost to the retailers as a movement of a launch date like that. Moving it forward, as you will oftentimes notice, is announced usually 3-4 months before a launch, moving the launch back - as in earlier - would require even more notice to adjust marketing and scheduling. The company I work for hasn't recieved any such notice, so it stands to reason that the launch date cannot, and will not, be moved forward.
I will not name the company I work for, as I could get in trouble if I do.
Although some of you know - and please don't mention it here.
But this - if nothing else on this site, is fairly conclusive.
Please stop referring to the I Love Bees site as an early launch date countdown. It's not.
