A tosser is the same as a wanker. To toss oneself off is to fondle the trouser weasel.

This is a new one. I don't see why both systems could not communicate with each other.

So it would work 4 players on Xbox and 4 players on an Xbox360 playing with each other?

Yes. Microsoft have confirmed that you can mix original and 360 for system link play.

Hope this helps!

R.I.P. Halo 2

Yes, you can use an Xbox original and an Xbox 360 in the same LAN game. You just need to make sure they have the same version of Halo 2 on each.

On the log in screen for Halo 2, there should be a number on the bottom right of the screen showing which patch (version) you have. If it is the same on both Xboxs, then you're good to go.

If not:
If you can get online with both Xboxs, then I would suggest downloading the patch for both of them (latest version is 1.5).
If you can't get online with both of them, then go to Halo 2 on your hard drive and delete "Game Data." This will set it back to the original version of Halo 2. Doing this will delete all the DLC maps however.

It doesn't matter if the version number doesn't match up. So long as the host machine has the patch then everyone else that joins will get the patch only for the duration of the game. If you want everyone to be on version 1.5 just have the Xbox with the patch host the game. Likewise if you want everyone to play the unpatched 1.0 version then have the Xbox without the patch host the game.

BTW playing 4 player split-screen Halo 2 on the Xbox 360 may pose a serious problem. The framerate will likely dip severely and make the game unplayable.
