I'm too cheap to buy an action replay or mod my xbox but am I the only one who thinks modded gametypes should be allowed. Or even better to please both sides Bungie could take some of the good "illegal" mods and turn these gametypes into downloadable content. Gernade wars is one of the funnest games but is really hard to play when you have real weapons because of that wack you if in range reflex I get from playing halo way to much.
What I'm trying to say is that the only thing truly wrong with modded gametypes (which don't affect matchmaking) is that Bungie and Microsoft have the the rules about changing content (even to immprove it). I see how sword flying could be used in mathmaking but the only excuse for killing the use of modded gametypes (not maps) is that it is easier to catch modders if you don't exclude searching gametype files.
That was a long rant and won't be read by many but I'm realizing I shouldn't be mad at Bungie. I should be mad at the person who got the idea to mod maps. Or if it wasn't their fault it was the people who played the maps in matchmaking. Despite my slight anger at Bungie this is probaly the best way to get rid of the CHEATERS.
But then again PLAYING MODDED GAMETYPES ISN'T CHEATING.
I appreciete your honesty and all, but even with your solutions, it just wouldn't work. There are people like you and me who havn't bought mod chips or action replay who would get screwed over because we would be left out in the cold, getting modded EVERY game. Even if Bungie created some modders only playlist, some jerks would still mod in legitimate games. And why should Bungie let people mod? They worked MANY long hours on it and they don't want it screwed up by a bunch of jerks!
