Maybe you're exaggerating a little, but I think having a counterbalance for every weapon takes something out of the gameplay that made Halo coolbeans. For example, if I pick up a battle rifle (which is say, at the top of an exposed hill) I now have an advantage over someone who snagged a needler. I took the risk of getting the weapon, I reap the reward of power until my ammo or life expires. Now, things like a covenant range weapon (carbine)..what? The alien bastards have their own weapons and special attributes. Stun, shield drain, speed, etc. I don't like that human and Covenant weapons are so devoid of individuality this time around. I lost my train of thought three sentences ago, and now I have to take a crap, so 'end rant'.
