If you were lurking around the Reach Forum recently, you might have seen this thread about an adorable character called Oonsk, created from cropping Kat's shoulder armor piece into the figure of a little guy.
More suprising however, Shishka was able to put a picture of Oonsk in his post using [img] tags. Although when he did the picture appeared in all of it's beauty, anyone who quoted him had the image in the post replaced with a "[Image Removed]".
I just have a few questions:
1) How long have you been able to do this?
2) Is it possible that group administrators could be given this power in a website update?
Obviously there would be some problems with such a feature, as people would be able to post pr0n into their group threads, but is that really any different that posting URLs to pr0n?
We were having a discussion about this in that particular thread, but its better suited for this forum so I decided to start it up here.
Your thoughts, B.net?
Update: Yeah. After nearly a year I don't really like this idea anymore, particularly after my group got spammed with naked pictures of Old Men. We do just fine without images cluttering up our forums.
since most players get the image removed from using the [img] and the [.img](no .), it is healthy to note that embedding images into these forums is not a potential for the average member as far as i know, seeing as though a few people, including Bungie Employees, (starts with an S and has a linked twitter page, also thanks to him for some cool questions for the noble maps)(not supposed to single players, especially of Bungie employee, idk how stretchable this rule is, but please be with me lol) posted embedded pictures yesterday, 11/29/10 the day before release of the noble map packs... i will remember it... the day i did (learned about)this.
PS info for yesterday- note that a bungie employee was capable of giving a screenshot that i have seen for quite a while, info Here. Just scroll down and think about Love and Valentine's day.
Please note that a member using the same [img] and [.img] commands will get the same image removed indication...probably the strongest push for the thought of : Only Bungie employees and superior members can embed images on bungie.net's forums.
also note that i am regarding the bungie.net forums, not the public/private group sources...
PS... which group was it that got spammed!?
(just joking nubcakes... lol thats .. very funny!...)
