So my friend gave me this script to look at, because hes trying to make a Machinima. He wanted to make a pilot episode to introduce his series (no name as of yet). We would also like the Bungie Community to take a look at it and give us some feedback.
So here is the script:
Episode 1
"ONI"
<The story begins with an UNSC Commander being interrogated by a Board of ONI "Brass" Intelligence Committee.>
ONI Brass #1: Can you tell us again, Commander Iro, why you thought it was more important to destroy the entire station, rather than making the attempt to recover the Data Core yourself?
Iro: I can assure you, sirs, I devoted every asset to-
ONI Brass #2: Do you understand that this could compromise the entire operation? That your "precautions" might have made Project SCAFFOLD a complete failure for The Intelligence Branch?
Iro: I did what was needed to achieve my goal. The data core was in enemy hands before we arrived, so I improvised and destroyed the station.
ONI Brass #1: Your orders are not open to interpretation, Commander. Your place is to do as you are commanded and to follow those commands to the letter. You were tasked with the recapture of the Intelligence Data Core, not its destruction. You failed to perform your duties, and are therefore sentenced to immediate dismissal.
ONI Brass #2: Commander Iro, you are hereby dismissed from this cabinet. You will leave your identification tags when you exit.
<As Iro exits the building, he is greeted by a waiting ONI Officer.>
Iro: They didn't believe me Martin. I told you how this was going to turn out, and you didn't listen. Now I'm the one being court-martialed, and stalked by ONI spooks, all because you thought it would be a good idea to tell them that we DESTROYED the Data Core.
Martin: Don't worry, we'll simply find another way to clear your name-
Iro: Do you think this is a game? Do you know how wrong it is to steal that kind of information? Now it looks as if I stole the damn thing, and I'll have no choice but to avoid ONI charges for treason for the rest of my life.
Martin: <sighs> I've been meaning to say, now that you've been released, why not take the initiative? We've already got the data, why not use it?
Iro: We stole it to make sure that no more soldiers become cannon fodder for ONI's SCAFFOLD Project. I would never use that kind of info against ONI or the UNSC, that's suicide.
Martin: You're still not seeing the big picture here Iro. Just think, a world without war, a world without ONI controlling every step we take.
Iro: You're starting to sound like an Innie.
Martin: So what if I am? Iro, you know better than anyone what this data is worth, what it means to people like me.
Iro: What do you mean, me?
Martin: Join the Insurrection, Iro. We could use a fighter like you...more than you know.
Iro: No way, I would never join the Insurrection. Not for any reason.
Martin: Are you serious? How dense could you possibly be? ONI's using you, Iro! They waste precious Inner Colony lives, while Outer Colonies burn without protection.
Iro: I will never join. Never. You can hand me back that data core, and I'll be on my way.
Martin: That's...<pulls out pistol>...not going to happen. <fires>
Iro: <coughs up blood> Why me? Why choose me for the Insurrection?
Martin: Do you know how long we've waited for someone like you to come around? Do you? Somebody who's head isn't filled with ONI propaganda? No, you played your part perfectly. Every step of the way, you were helping us. I thought you might have a better life with us. I see now that I was mistaken.
<Gun Click>
Iro: No!
<Gunshot>
<Screen Flashes to Black>
<The next scene in the episode introduces UNSC Commander Jones on board the UNSC Prowler Point of No Return, as he and his personal AI Maya are about to brief a squad of Spartan Scouts>
Maya: Sir, I've got a sample from the last few minutes of ONI surveillance that you requested.
Jones: Thank you, Maya. Maybe now we can get some answers around here. I'm going to brief the boys, I'd be honored if you could join me.
Maya: It would be my pleasure, Commander.
Jones: Gentlemen, I'm glad you came back in one peace. Harvest is one helluva battlefield to operate in, I'm told.
Right now, you're going to need to focus, because your next task is one we can barely grasp ourselves.
<activates or motions to a screen behind him>
It began with the Innie prisoner exchange that the Trebuchet Spartan Task Force conducted last June. As you very well know, the whole event didn't go down too well, with sides arguing about procedure, and eventually erupting into gunfire. We lost several Spartan III's in that encounter, all because ONI wanted to complicate things with their protocol nonsense.
Your target today is the man who started it all. Leonard Martin. He's an ex-ONI turned Insurrectionalist. He will be speaking to his fellow Innies onboard the cruiser Serpentis. You gentlemen will be making his speech a little more interesting. Any questions?
Harris: What's our insertion look like, sir?
Jones: Our Long range stealth pods are on your way in, Harris. As for a way out, I thought you could improvise.
Joshua: It's what we do best, sir.
Maya: I'll provide assistance for them as they reach the cruiser, sir.
Jones: Good. Harris, Joshua? Get set to jump in 0100 hours, and good luck.
<screen fades to black>
<end of episode>
