For you emblem to count:
- "Hearts" emblem
- "Circle" or "None" background
- A red primary color
- Secondary or background color of white.

Basically, If you have a red heart on a white circular background, you are good.

Wicked. Thanks for clearing that up! :)

Thanks for telling me!

I told some people I played with on halo about this and all I got from them was hate mail... =/

I tried.

If you want to help the citizens of Haiti do nothing, or pray. But don't hand them bucketloads of money.

If you want to help the dictator of Haiti, go ahead and send "Haiti" money. The dictator would claim to be Haiti, naturally as he represents it. But this calls on a whole other host of issues. Go ahead and support what feminists would call: "a masochist". What looters call "a strong man". Actually don't. It doesn't matter, its your "choice". Unless of course you believe that your feelings control you or somehow that rejecting the facts, and acting on non-rational leaps of faith* will save you from a meaningless existence. It won't.

*sending money to a dictator of a country expecting the betterment of its citizens

if you had read this, youd see the money was going to the american red cross, not to a dictator

Hmmmm..... think we could get a counter of how much money has been raised on the front page?

  • 01.19.2010 7:41 PM PDT

  • 01.19.2010 8:34 PM PDT

Xtreme DEAF Gamer

"Somewhere in the heavens... they are waiting"

I messaged my whole friends list about it. So far, only two people had shown interest besides me. We played with the emblem today. Actually saw quite a few other players with it too.

You can be neutral. Neutral means you don't have to pick sides in an argument. Also knows as Independent.

I helped Haiti. Well I will when the money get deducted from my account.

it makes me sad that i usually don't have enough money that i have to just send in a few bucks, wish i could do more for them but now that i have helped out with what i could and now with halo i feel that i have done somewhat enough to make a dif. also, question will bungie get mad at us who don't care about our stats? i know i have atleast 4-5k deaths i can get without going - kd so i am thinking about just hitting start and letting it go while i am asleep. i had a friend who was like i don't have time to play or i would, i was like just start it and let it go. he was worried about his stats, so i said what happened to the status of businesses and shelter for ppl in haiti!

so far in 3 hours in i've seen quite a few ppl rocking the hearts, even tho one dude had a white heart with the secondary red then an oval background, don't know if he was trolling or didn't know what was going on but it disturbed me.

That would be nice.

  • 01.20.2010 3:16 AM PDT

another question. do they really think that all of halo's players are going to play? $77k!!!!!! i haven't seen over 200k online in a LONG time. a little over $20k. if we don't get above that, i think bungie should go ahead and donate the whole $77k!

and one more, i see nothing on the color the circle background has to be, may we put the background circle as any color? SUCH AS PINK!!!!!!!!

  • 01.20.2010 3:33 AM PDT

I'm a great sniper. Never underestimate me unless you dare to.......

I'm definitely changing the emblem to support Haiti.

  • 01.20.2010 4:37 AM PDT

Done and played. Also picked up two shirts, one for me and one for the wife. Thanks Bungie for giving us other avenues to support the relief!

  • 01.20.2010 4:51 AM PDT

A friend of mine would like to help, but he hasn't got an xbox yet. would it help if he bought an xbox halo pack?

fail weekly update.... seriously? This stuff is all over every other web site. it didn't need to be here also to cancel out a regular update....

just fail.

Not everyone uses a credit card, or pay pal for that matter. I do not use it for personal reasons, mainly not having a credit card to avoid identity theft which I had happen in the past no thanks to pay pal.

Ok, so they had an earthquake, big deal. Tragic events happen world wide everyday.

Just Fail.

I guess you never imagined what it would be like to have everything taken away from you from and uncontrollable natural disaster, do ya? These things can happen to anybody at anytime so don't think that you are safe, and when it happens to you, you will be grateful for those who go out on an extra limb to help you out.

It's just an update for a children's video game, there are much more important things going on in this world.

FOrget about a natual disaster, I have had my whole world taken away from me by my ex wife. because of her self righteous ass. I come to sites like this, to get away from the BS of the real world. If you knew half the -blam!- I been though kid, you would understand. Try spending 12 days in jail because your wife had a bipolar moment, and called the cops and lied to them crying Assault 4. Then trying to call the court date off because she didn't mean it.

Live my life kid, and you will understand real life.

There are way to many sites taking advantage of this event and keeping the money for themselves. There is this kind of magnitude stuff everyday. You just do not hear about it. You hear of this, because it is off our shores.

so keep your cry baby ideas to yourself, this is a gaming site, not a real world current events site. if I wanted to see this BS, I would go to yahoo or google.

I am rebuilding my whole life right now, because of my divorce from her.

The 1337-team has been fun to play with. You can check out the carnage below, but sadly you will never know of the awesomeness of said games. At the start of each game, I recited the "change your emblem, save a person" speech, and got one or two changes. In the mean time, Lord Spanky, Duardo, and just about anyone who could, started singing, telling tales of old, or just generally saying "lol, Lord British" to me for the entire match.

We had some good laughs, and we got a total of six convertions, and eight of our own. All for a greater good. It still doesn't seem right that I can sit in my house and play Halo though, while people all around the globe are dying from lack of even the basic amenities. It's a sad world.

Game One
Game Two
Game Three
Game Four

I would have loved to play more, but sadly it's late. Sucky timezones.

Play hard, have fun.

Hey guys, this is really a great thing you're doing. My crew and I are rocking the emblems, thanks for this awesome opportunity. Many young players cannot afford monetary donations, and this is a fantastic way to help everyone contribute to a truly noble cause! Will buy a shirt very soon!

It's great to see the seventh column participating, I'm proud of all you guys! ;)

We had a big group of us online last night playing, all with the emblems. Even if i am only 10 cents of bungie's donation, people often make the mistake of thinking it's too small to count, but it all adds up.

The profits from the shop are a great idea, especially for those thinking of buying a bungie shirt anyhow. Those of us outside the US, if you were going to buy a shirt just because of this think about just donating the cash.

There's a lot of bad things going on in the world, but when something like this happens people really do have to go above and beyond to help. We can't donate to every cause, can't solve every problem, but when we can sit in our cosy homes and -blam!- on forums about a company donating a few bucks to help people whose country has just been destroyed, well I don't want to hear how tough you've got it.

I read this comment elsewhere on the web. "Why work so hard to save people we were content to let starve to death until last week?"

Definite reminder that we can and should do what we can to help others, even outsides times of major crisis.

"We are the music makers. We are the dreamers of dreams."

I've changed my emblem, played as much as I could, screen-shotted (though I still have more to go through) and have bugged as many people as I've been able to to play today.

This is the best idea I've seen. With my pockets extremely shallow (they're pretty much inside out) it's nice to know that there is a way I can offer some contribution.

Some people have been getting political. It's not about that. It's about people helping people. That's something the world is short of these days. I'm just glad I can help!

If I can squeeze in a few more games before midnight, I will.
