I was just browsing adn saw someone mention 343 Guilty spark, and I do not know why, but I remembered the line "Stop being human!" or something like that he says in The Library when you shoot him.

My questions are as follows.

If he knew you were human, why did he sound so surprised in The Maw when he said "'Human history' is it?" about the record of all his 'lost time?'

If the Forerunner were Human, and called themselves such, he would not have been so surprised, AND cortana would have figured that out when she was in HALO's main computer. Additionally, I do not believe the Forerunner would call themselves that, so whatever they did call themselves it would be logical to conclude that Cortana would posess this true name, and, as a computer, would probably call them by it, as it is the proper name for them (I just get the feeling an artificial intelligence would like to be as proper and accrate as possible, matches up with the perfectionist attitude Cortana seems to have displayed so far.)

I had somehting else to add, but it has slipped my mind. I may remember it later, for now, think on what I have said.

(Please, for the love of Dr. Hasley, intelligent replies only.)

While we could very easily associate that GS quote to being a forerunner=human connection, it is also possible, and i think, nearly certain, that humans were one of the species on the Halo Arks. "For exactly 101 217 local years, it lay forgotten and derelict in a disused portion of space." says the HBO story page. Whatever that means. So early humans would've certainly been Ark dwellers if we were to survive a blasting. I don't think we humans called ourselves "humans" then, do you? And if that's how long between the last forerunner GS 343 saw and Master Chief showed up, I'd like an explanation on evolution then ;) I don't think the forerunner "deevolved" technologoically speaking to primitivei pre-mesopatamian humans. Nope, i think something happened to the forerunner - i think they sacrificed themselves?. I think in the last blast, I command decision was made by The Reclaimer (You asked me, would i do it? I'd have to say after all this time my answer still remains - "Yes."). It doesn't sound to me like The Reclaimer had company. Kinda lonely, huh? I think The Reclaimer had to fire the Halo's, killing his own forerunners on their planets, and only the "animals" on the Arks were saved (and AI's and robots redistrubited them back to their respective planets again). Of course, why didn't the forerunner simply live on their arks? I dunno.

Of course, why was heh suprised at it being called "human history" when he knew we (or at least, the marines) were humans? I think he knew through observing us that we were humans, but somehow he didn't connect us to our old relatives? Could be a plot hole, or I'm missing something.

One thing is for sure: i think Cortana is holding out on us.

He knew they were human, he didn't know that the Forerunner wer The ancient Human Decendants.

Interesting theory. This is just the sort of response I was looking for... I guess. I often overlook the idea that HALO has been activated before... (do we even really *know* if it has been?)

Oh, and Chaplain... your sig should be "never have more enemies than you have bullets." ~_^ (Note: this is an attempt at being humorous, this is not me trying to 'boss you around' or any such nonsense.)
