Subject: Question for people who are Pro at Halo 2.

Now, finally, in 2010, I can finally play Halo 2 online like I've always wanted to since November of 2004.

Okay, so here's my predicament. First off, I completely suck at Halo 2, but, I know that I'm better than when I got Xbox live and started really playing every day in earnest just a week ago (as of Jan 8 of 2010). So, I've been getting better right? But then I accidentally discovered all of these wonderful things that you can do with various weapons, like the doubleshot for the battlerifle and the quick melee with the SMG etc.

Now that I've been devoting all of my attention to perfecting like my BXR and Sticky Melee, my performance has rapidly decreased. I know if I practice long enough I'll get good at anything, however, in the long run, will things like the Quad Shot and the BXR hinder my Halo 2 development or end up giving me an edge?

So, basically, should I just continue to play like most other people, use my battlerifle like I'm supposed to and try to stick people like most others stick people, or should I go ahead and try really hard to get good at unconventional means of battle?

I'm not a pro at button combo's but I think most people use them, imo. As far as I'm concerned, I'd do whatever the controller allows and get damned good at it. Or you could ask the people you are playing with what their preference is, straight or all-out war.

Why are you here?

Just play normally, without button combos. When I first tried to learn button combos, they were nearly impossible. I would screw around with them in custom games every now and then, but when I went to play matchmaking I would drop them and try to get better playing the game the way it was meant to be played.

Over time I got better at button glitching and started throwing them in randomly to my gameplay. Just take your time and practice them very sparingly.

"I'll tell you right now, if you ever see someone called ll wa1do ll... leave the game immediately. My friend knows him, I've been in his party a few times, do not mess with this guy. From what I've heard, he's the real deal. I also heard someone made a guy named Wa2do (similar to his name) and then he hacked that guy and boosted off his level." -From Minou on Bungie.net

Double shotting really won't help you that much until it becomes second nature but for sure BXR'ing is something that you should get down.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

IplayDreamcast. That is a great name.

Just play Halo how you normally play and do not worry about the botton combos. Learn them and fool around with 'em.

How did Doubleshot, BXR and Super Bounces get past Game Testers anyway? Isn't that their job to find glitches like those?

Hello! I'm a male!

Button Combo usage in Halo 2 all depends on your ability to predict and your hand/eye coordination over anything else. In my case button combos made me lose more fights than win. I say in your case it probably won't help you at all. So just play normal and stop trying to use the button chea.... I mean button combos.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

When it comes to playing a game, irregardless of what game it is, you have to play in a way that is easy and comfortable for you. There is no one way to get better at a game, it varies for every person. I would just play whatever way is easiest for you.
