That is a great idea. Kind of like the little sign under the arches at McDonald's

"Million and Millions Banned !"

A great idea, a counter on the front page showing "currently X cheaters banned" updated all the time.

I have a suggestion for Bungie.net. Put a stock ticker type thing on the home page that lists the stats of the number of people banned to date, the number banned in the last 24 hours, etc; that updates in real time.
I would love to know what is being done and to be able to see the actual results. I'm also curious just how rampant the modding really was. Seemed like 25% or more to me.

Not asking for gamertags, since it was stated that is a privacy issue, just want to know how many bans in general.

Great to see that a mod likes the idea, Recon.

Normally, I don't like the idea of anything that gives more attention or notoriety to people who cheat.

This idea however has nothing personal or individually "rewarding" to cheaters, modders, etc. It's really growing on me. It might be a good idea for a field on the leaderboard and stats page..

I agree 100% about not giving the cheaters more attention; definately no gamertags, just a count.
It would be a great place to send the naysayers that say Bungie doesn't care and isn't doing anything about cheating. It would also give the diehards fans (myself included) a piece of mind to see that the bottomfeeders are actively being purged from our community.

You could also have a statistic for the number of cheating clans banned as well.

It would definitely be a great "talking point" for Sunday morning political talk shows. What's that? Bungie doesn't go on Meet the Press? Oh, well
For the Friday WWU, then.

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

That is actually a really really good idea, because I know lots of people don't think Bungie and/or the update are actually doing anything (yes those people are idiots, but its still nice to have some hard numbers).

You are talking about RSS feed ticker. Might be a good thing but I am tired of hearing about cheaters or moddrs. So what I do is just look for friends on bungie.net and get their gamertags added to my friends list. And we hit the unranked or custom games.

I don't really like it. The really stupid cheaters 'll probably just think it's something like a post count, and purposly(sp) get banned.

999,999 and still getting banned!

I wouldn't mind seeing how many have been banned. Maybe in like the next weekly update. It shouldn't be updated every 24 hours or whenever. Just a little notice of how many Bungie/Xbox Live has banned.

If it would make them waste accounts it's just an even better idea

I don't know how hard it would be for Bungie to implement this, but I think it would be great. Maybe Achronos can give us some feedback on if this would be possible.
