Part: I

It was a sight that sent echoes of religious fervor throughout the CSS-battlecruiser Immovable Faith. Before the ship was a Forerunner Dreadnought, much like one found in the center of the holy city of High Chairty. The triangular overall shape of the Dreadnought gently floated in the blackness of space and was only illuminated by the central green power core. What was it doing in an empty expanse of the galaxy?

That question rang through the mind of Shipmaster Eaite' Fojdcee as he gazed at the marvel. The only reason they had found the Dreadnought was because they were in pursuit of a human ship that fled from their colony world of Galileo II. Once they exited Slipspace, the human cruiser was nowhere to be found, only the Forerunner ship. Eaite could only speculate on where the humans went, it was possible their Slipspace technology failed and disintegrated them into oblivion, but it was only a guess. Now, the Shipmaster had only one thing left to do, board the ship.

"Commanders!" Eaite barked to the crimson Major Domos and white Ultra Sangheili warriors in the back of the bridge, "Gather your soldiers, we depart to the holy relic on the hour."

Before Eaite himself prepared to leave, he made contact with the High Prophetess of Obligation, one of the only female San 'Shyuum to serve on the High Council an one of the most respected. Her form materialized in a stream of blue data aboard the Faith's main holoprojector in flash of brilliance. Her form was much larger than the last time he had seen her, but it was rumored she was pregnant, but that was of little importance.

"High Prophetess," proclaimed Eaite, "We have detected valuable Forerunner relic, a Dreadnought much like the one in High Charity. Do we have your permission to make a pilgrimage to the cruiser?"

The High Prophetess gave the Shipmaster a smile and said "You may Shipmaster Fojidee. Please record and send the coordinates to the Council once you have returned so that we may transfer it to a more public avenue for all in the Covenant to see."

With a bow, Eaite ended the transmission and returned to his preparations. This would be a great day for the Covenant, first the destruction of a wreathed human world and now the discovery of one of the god's most awe inspiring artifacts.

A violent bang disrupted the lowly Unggoy Wirnig from one of his visions. Wirnig was a special case in the Unggoy caste, he was known for foretelling psychic visions that turned out to be true. Even though he was used extensively to help the Covenant predict key events during battle, he still suffered the stigma of being an Unggoy. So it was no surprise when he was interrupted by a Major Domo banging on his door. The imposing figure strolled up to Wirnig and ordered him to prepare the boarding on the Forerunner Dreadnought. He didn't tell the same for the other Unggoy in the same room as they were not deemed important enough to join the group heading to the vessel.

"Gee Wirnig," an Unggoy named Turnliog said, "You sure are lucky to join the Shipmaster in regards to the pilgrimage. Why I'd give my methane tan to come."

"If I could I'd take you all of you I would," Wirnig whelped," But I don't have high enough standing in the Covenant to do so, all they use me for is cheap tricks and nothing more."

His fellow Unggoy wished him luck on his journey and he departed to the main hanger bay. Inside the excited chatter of what might happen in the Dreadnought reared through the hanger. Some thought new weapons would be found, others wondered what the architecture would be like, most couldn't wait to brag about being part of Covenant history. He could see a few other Unggoy that were part of the team, but they Special Operations and stood in a stark contrast to Wirnig, they wore black armor while he was in standard yellow. Also present were shield carrying Kig-Yar units, four Mgalekgolo pairs, and hundreds of Sanghili. Most were wearing gold armor, but many still wore the crimson of Major Domo or blue of Minor.

As soon as Wirnig situated himself with the Spec-Ops Unggoy, the Shipmaster entered the hanger. He donned a golden variation of the Aesthetic Sanghili Combat Harness, his ideal choice of armor. As he strolled towards his signature white Phantom drops hit, he was met with respect by every Covenant warrior present from the high ranking Sanghili Zealots to the lowly Spec-Ops Unggoy. As he passed them, he took a moment to examine Wirnig, gave him a grunt, and resumed. Wirnig wondered what that was about, but was answered by on of the black clad Unggoy warriors.

"He doesn't much like what you predicted in regards to the human vessel," the Unggoy claimed as he rose from his bow intended to the Shipmaster with a hint of pity in his voice, "They lost the humans, but I suppose ending up near a cruiser of the god's makes up for it."

After the comment, the Unggoy were motioned to a Phantom, but Wirnig was directed to the Shipmaster's Phantom instead. With hesitation, he made his way to the omnibus craft and entered. Inside, the Shipmaster signaled him to come towards him and sit. As Wirnig did so, the Shipmaster leaned towards him and said "We have some things to discuss Unggoy."
