Does anyone think that it'd be a good idea in Halo 2 if the more enemies a Marine kills, the better he fights, In short, increasing his morale?

I sure think it will, because then, they would be less of an annoyance to you, and, if you took them into a huge firefight, and they manage to survive, then their battlefield experience would increase and they may be able to give you vital information about the fights ahead of you.

Also, the more tougher and higher ranked anemies a marine manages to kill, Elites, Hunters (Sgt. Johnson did a good job on Assault on the Control Room with his sniper) maybe even Brutes, then the toughe he became, refusing to die unless under very high amounts of firepower.

The marines morale could also be increased by watching the Master Chief take on numerous enemies and win. You know, like watching him in awe as he (us) pull off a spectacular combination move to down several elites.

I think that it'd be a great help on those long, annoying missions when Marines just simply stand in the way while they get themselves kiled by a grenade thrown by a grunt, (which to be honest, was a bit embarrassing)

What do you guys think?

Yeah, DIABLO and MASTER BMAN i wasn't implying that they would complete the missions with you, it would just make them appear more realistic, i mean seriously, who dives INTO a grenade? (ive have seen numerous marines do that!)

Actually, I prefer having the marines idiotic and non-battle-hardened because it makes for good cannon fodder. Yeah I would prefer that they would be able to actually kill some things, and actually place frags near the enemy and not me; but it's fun creeping around and flanking a squad of grunts and elites while you have those pesky little marines taking all the fire.

How about the whole "Morale" thing, do you think that you would actually perform better so that you could get some well earned assistance from your new "skilled" marine buddies?

Tis a good idea - In bungie's other game, myth, when a man got more kills, he gains experience and he does better than the guys with none. I think bungie should add that into halo too :)

I think it would be cool, but in reality, most marines don't live long enough to gain experience, and I don't think it would really be worth processor power that could be going to other, cooler things. In short, it would be nice, but I don't think the game would get better or worse without it. Personally, I would rather see a more adaptive marine AI, rathen than marines getting tougher and more powerful based on kills. So basically, the marines would adapt and become smarter based on the situations they have been in, not the number of kills they have had. Adaption is one of the stronger signs of intelligence.
