Undoubtedly, sombody may have already linked this story into the New Mombasa forums somwhere, but I haven't seen it yet, so I'm gonna post it. I found this on www.teamxbox.com today, and I take no credit for anything written here. It belongs to the editors of www.teamxbox.com, and I have linked it so you can see for yourself that my story is accurate with thiers. I hope you find it as intresting as I did. Remember, all theories have not been proven, and the editors at www.teamxbox.com are just making an educated guess, but it's a damn good one, and the best I've heard so far! Well, Here it is! Enjoy!

Halo 2 Single Player Demo on August 24th? BY-TEAMXBOX.COM

Last week, Microsoft and Bungie released an online version of the theatrical trailer of Halo 2 that is being projected in Loews cinemas across the country. You can watch the trailer here. At the end of the trailer, the classic Xbox ending sequence appears but this time there was something new. The www.xbox.com address changes for a couple of frames to www.ilovebees.com.

What exactly the “ilovebees” mystery holds is unknown. The URL points out to a website that seems to be hacked and there are tons of subtle oddities that contribute to the speculation.

What is a fact is that the site has a countdown and it ends on August 24th. What exactly does that date hold for us?

We don’t know yet but the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine has shed some light into the mystery with a page that has a promo for next month issue, featuring The Big Holiday Preview Guide. In the ad there is an OXM magazine covered by wrapping paper, looking as a gift, with a small tag that says: “Do not open until August 24th”. OXM promises tons of screenshots and every detail on Halo 2 among other games. But the most interesting info that this ad provides is the fact that it will be in newsstands on August 24th.

This is more that a coincidence and by now an avid mind is wondering what exact Halo 2 goodie will the next issue of OXM will have for us? A big Halo 2 preview revealing new info about the game? Or could it be possible that a demo of the game is being cooked up for next month? A single player demo? An online playable demo, similar to the internal beta Bungie used to gather data? Really, your guess is as good as ours.

Some believe that one of the mysterious texts found in the ilovebees.com website that says “SYSTEM PERIL DISTRIBUTED REFLEX” is a suggestion of a Single Player Demo Release and that the following text, “In 13 days this medium will metastasize”, might be an indication that on that day the demo discs will start to be manufactured.

We have no idea what will happen from now until Aug. 24th and we don’t even want to think about Nov. 9th. One thing is for sure, the hype has begun. Stay tuned. We’ll have more on the ilovebees mystery as it becomes available.

That would be cool except that i play the PC version; i hope that if there is a demo (which to be honest i don't think there will be) i hope they make one for PC too.

sorry but there is absolutely no chance of halo 2 demo for PC because bungie hasnt even announced that they're officially doing halo 2 for PC let alone a release date so in order to get a halo 2 PC demo you are gonna have to wait A LONG TIME, like 2 years is my guess

I wouldn't count on it. Mabey two years or so after Halo 2 is released. Many XBoxes could be purchased by PC gamers who want Halo 2 in that time.

Personally, i don't think Halo 2 would be very good on the PC and the System Requirements for the game would way out of the league for the average computer. Not everyone has a Alienware computer that has a 3.6Ghz processor and 5GBs of Memory, nor does everyone have $10,000 to buy one. (they actually don't cost that much but they are rather expensive.)

They can cost that much at falcon-nw.com. Go there and configure the most powerful one. Now THAT, is power. I WANT ONE!!!!!

-sigh-

You people need to get over it, the chances of H2 on PC are near nil.

Its deffinitely, most likely, a demo, one level, most likely single player. On the pc demo of halo, they just give you one level, silent cartographer, to show off, and i believe this demo will have one kind of vehicle, to display the vehicle damage, some of the weapons, so you can see improvements, and maybe two pistol weapons so you can duel wield, and maybe, end the level off nice with a brute. Nice level, shows you some new features, gives you a beautiful looking level, minimal storyline to keep you guessing, and combined with the gameplay, will make mag subscribers buy halo 2, and make halo 2 fans buy the mag. Its a win-win situation for microsoft, bungie, and the mag.
