Those mandatory updates that do nothing are stopping me from playing my beloved Halo Deuce. It auto-signs off because it's an xbox original, but it needs to be signed in to download this update.

I've also tried everything in the thread above. Any idears?

Halo 2 for Life!

cry, then call xbox live tech support. You probably have got the update, you probably need to just redownload the maps for halo2 as everytime you update halo2 now you need to redownload the maps off the internet in halo2. I don't remember but i don't think orginal xbox's sign off automatically?

Delete all maps (if any) and purge the cache at the same time. Turn off box and unplug the cat5 or cat6 cable, then plug back in. Restart console, get update, get maps and life will be good again.

As a reminder, make sure the 360 says 'signed-in' and 'Gold' after dumping the cache and maps.

Fixed it. Bust a "clear cache" but make sure Halo isnt in the drive, then put it in and power down. Should work.
