Well let us do the calculations.

Story mode: Campaign is around 5 hours long. Now lets say for each hour you play it cost $3. Now just multiply $3 by 5 and the campaign is worth around $15.

Firefight: An addictive onslaught of enemies will have us playing for probably around +5 hours before we start getting bored of it. Now like I said before, $3 for every hour, so we just multiply 3 by 5 making FireFight worth about +$15.

H3 Multiplayer Disc: Now Halo 3 original mostly revolved around its multiplayer. And halo 3 is now $45. But because it has not campaign which was around 8 hours long, there goes $24, so now the multiplayer disc cost around $21.

DLC: Heroic Map Pack= $0
Legendary Map pack= $7.50
Cold Storage= $0
Mythic Map Pack= $10
Part 2= $10
Plus we dont have to wait to download all that stuff

Reach Beta: Its out for about a month and its not permanant so lets say it cost about $5. But in the end we are actually helping Bungie by playing Reach beta cause then they can find the mistakes and glitches they made with their game. So we should be getting paid to for having fun >:)

Add it up: 15 + 15 + 21 + 10 + 10 + 7.50 + 5 = 83.5
But thats only if you didn't buy the maps, but if you did (like most of us), here are the new calculations.

15 + 15 + 10(for mythic map part 2)+ 21 + 5= $66

WEll im quite surprised myself

The universe is probably littered with the one-planet graves of cultures which made the sensible economic decision that there's no good reason to go into space--each discovered, studied, and remembered by the ones who made the irrational decision.

wow I can also assign imaginary arbitrary numbers to different parts of a game to! /sarcasm

Lol it is based on a persons self worth, and for what was offered, it should of been 40, that is the only fair price. Or they should of sold the maps and the game separately, which they are doing now anyway. So if you bought the game within the first 2 months like me, you got ripped off. If you buy it now where it is $30 bucks in some stores and you buy the maps for $10, you are getting a steal.

BTW I assume you must be new to the world of gaming. A beta should never cost anything. A company is testing a product out, you should never have to pay for that. In fact they should be paying you.

I think that taking and attributing monetary values to individual components of the game is highly subjective. $3 per hour on the campaign? I feel it's worth more than that. And I spent longer on the campaign than five hours.

well i dunno how much do you think an hour of campaign should be then :P

intrepid, thats what i said. we should be getting paid for testing the beta so they can make the game better

Let's just say that the campaign is 5 hours. Each hour is worth $100, so the campaign is worth $500.

Firefight is about $122.45 per hour, and assume that you will play this 5+ hours. This means that firefight is worth anywhere from $612.25 to an infinite amount of money.

I think that each map pack is worth $50, so that is a total of $150 (Heroic, Legendary, Mythic; Cold Storage is free.)

ODST total= $1262.25. And we got it for only $60! What a deal.

If you like ODST, then it was worth it. If you didn't like it, then it wasn't. Everyone doesn't have to like every game.
