Now, this supports the Aug 24 theory, which I FIRMLY do not believe in.
But how would Bungie lose money releasing the game early?
Say they release in November, and sell 1 million copies.
Say they release in August, and they sell 250,000 that month. 250,000 in September, 250,000 in October, and 250,000 in November. Isn't that a million copies?
It's actually a smart strategy. Think about this, if Halo 2 released in November, a lot of copies would be purchased as Christmas presents.
If they released in August, people would run out and buy it in Aug/Sept/Oct. Then they'd have to buy another game as a Christmas present. Therefore, you buy 2 games instead of one.
Also, Q3 2004 ends in September, releasing the game early would boost Xbox/MS/Bungie Quarter 3 numbers....
This is assuming Halo 2 releases in August, which I don't believe is going to happen.
