It wasn't that much of a flop. It's just that, that disappointed people sounds loader than happy people. I, for one, thought that ODST was great, but I didn't go scream it out, while anyone that didn't like would go somewhere (most likely this forum) and scream out their complete and utter hatred for Bungie for making this game.
Also, because of some stuff, it was made for a very narrow audience. The people who loves campaign got a good, but very short campaign, leaving them unsatisfied. The people that loves multiplayer got Firefight, but apparently, good multiplayer=Matchmaking.
To complement this, we got all the Halo 3 multiplayer maps, but most really serious players already had them so they got mad, since they had to pay for them again...
All the people in between was the people who could enjoy ODST to the fullest, and they're not many ;P
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is how it went ;P
