It's not only narrow-minded, but also down right selfish to believe that only ONE opinion and perspective of the game (or anything else for that matter) to exist.
Is it really that hard for you to believe that many people, myself included, actually enjoyed (and still enjoy) the game?
QFT.
The problem is that people get fixated on their own opinion and won't hear anything against it, or they have a strong sense that they've been wronged when they appear to have made an uninformed purchase or raised their expectations too high.
Sure, I enjoyed ODST and have the capacity to do so anytime someone else is also playing ODST courtesy of a great co-op feature in Mombasa Steets and Firefight. However I can still see that it wasn't a perfect game, but then again, nothing is.
Despite the few problems I may have had with ODST (Firefight score tracking in particular) I don't immediately denounce it as "not a full game" or an "overpriced expansion" because I got good value from the game regardless of anyone else's opinion or my own negative experiences which didn't mar the experience as a whole.
And now I'll address the title of thread; showing appreciation for a game one enjoys does not equate to "sucking up" to Bungie. Personally I feel that they did a great job considering the short dev cycle and repurposed team, yet I still feel that ODST could have been better in some ways, for example I would have liked to see some live Elites in the game, either getting killed by the Brutes or engaging the player as 3rd party enemy in certain situations.
