I don't want to join your group.

Loving the flood of Reach info as of late. The game is starting to look pretty damn good. Dark, intricate story, and new gameplay mechanics that give me the impression of a more finely-tuned multiplayer experience (but we'll see in a couple of months).

The AR looks meaner and more accurate than ever before. If it doesn't spray as much (and melee is toned down), I may actually find myself liking the assault rifle. Weird.

I still think the DMR will be my weapon of choice at this point. Thing looks downright sexy.

Maybe? What would be the point of having them both?

  • 01.27.2010 5:18 PM PDT

You guys are so sexy.

I am the hand of fate!

I'm interested to see these new guns in action. Hopefully the Pistol will fill in the Mid-Range slot (DMR seems to be more mid-long) and most of the other weapons get a range boost so they're more like Halo 1's. I like the look of the Needle-Rifle, it looks like a Needler, Carbine, and Beam Rifle had a few too many shots of Tequila and got into a hot orgy.

Reach Beta in spring ?

Sounds like it gonna be like regular halo. Halo 3 was good back in 2007 but for the love of god a rehash in 2010 is downright bad.

Evolve and give us something better. Make a Battlefield : Halo already.

Sigh this franchise wont evolve until MS hands it over to 343.

The DMR is so sick. Like, almost-makes-you-wanna-puke-but-instead-you-smile sick.

I love these weapons; but does this mean that those are the only new weapons, or you're waiting a couple months to show more news (hawtness)? I'd also sure like to have a sound of how the guns shoot...

<3 You Bungie!

Can't wait to get my hands on one of those Needle Rifles!

'"Balancing a game is not an exact science," Sage adds, "because we don't always want total equality.'

Total equality just sounds terrible doesn't it? Because if the AR and DMR were equal then the game would be fair. We don't want that do we? The person with the BR/DMR should obviously win regardless of skill. Congratulations on halo 2.2 Bungie. You've successfully made the same game 3 times now.

If you had any sense you would make all the guns have a similar kill range(with obvious exceptions to sniper rifles etc).

I don't know any other successful games that do that
oh wait

Exactly the more I hear about halo reach the more it sounds like a rehash. We have been playing the exact same game since halo 1 came out. Seriously bungie change it up already, we dont want the same garbage.

Hey guys I just want to say is please don't make the same mistake again:

Creating one weapon that can dominate every scenario (BR, and maybe DMR), and please don't make the Human weapons so over bearing. I mean, the Covenant is the superior force in every way, then why do their weapons suck so much compared to the Human ones?

in the name of good fun challenging and fair gaming...amen

The Needle Rifle looks less "polished" than the DMR and AR, but maybe it's just me.

  • 01.27.2010 5:59 PM PDT

Another fine update, way to go Bungie! :)... If the Needle Rifle is still very similar to the Carbine, I may have found my new favorite rifle. Then again, then DMR is just like the battle rifle so..

Kool Aid Man

All i can say is this is fantastic. The art is absolutely beautiful and just the perfect amount of tease for us all. That needle rifle looks like it could do some real damage. As well as the DMR (Is it TEH BR?! I DUNNO!) which I am hoping is a one shot BR kinda thing. (like back when the BR was one shot ;) ). Great work Bungie! Keep up the good work and I expect Reach will blow everyone out of the water! :) (frag, rocket, sticky.... your choice!)

If you look at the whole covenant array of weapons and armor you will see that they have a more sleek finish to them. To me it makes sense that it is less detailed.

Doh, I didn't even think of that! Good call, that makes sense.

Get WorkPLaced!!

I love when guns have a really good punch to them, it makes the whole game more fun.

Like the Barret 50. cal in MW2, or the assault rifle in the Halo 3 beta.

XD I think the DMR will be a great addition to the arsenal of Halo Reach. Also this update helped me prove some dumbass on youtube wrong about some of the new weapons in Halo Reach. Thx Bungie
