Imagine playing Zanzibar with rolling fog. White Spartans vs. Elites. Spartans rely on stealth and camoflauge to try to make it as close to the base as the can without having to open fire. As team Alpah moves in towards the base, team Bravo provides cover sniping and, maybe more importantly, a decoy. If Alpha team is about to be spotted Bravo could lay down heavy fire to try and draw their attention while Alpha snuck in behind.

P.S. I have a very vivid imagination and a mind for strategy.

Dude. No. Just no. Halo is "dude grab a warthog and go blow -blam!- up while i go for the flag"

if you want bravo and alpha go play america's army or rainbow #

I made a thread about this a few months back. Here was my take on it.

I’ve heard much discussion about the possibility of having a customizable weather option in Halo 2 MP. Most of these discussions have centered around fans hopes and wishes with nothing to back them up. I decided to do a little investigating on the subject, and what I found is quite interesting.

I’ll present the evidence first, for those of you who absolutely have to see it. This isn't some rumor, you can see this "evidence" with your own eyes! The evidence is two videos from E3. The first video (most of you probably have a copy of this video already) is of the Microsoft Press Conference Halo 2 MP demo. There is a high res and a low res, if you want to download it, at FilePlanet.com. Once you have downloaded it, fast forward towards the end of the video when a tutorial is given of the level Zanzibar... when the camera flies around the level. The other video is from OpaAges.com. It is video of a Bungie employee giving a tutorial of the level Zanzibar in the “Bungie booth.” Here are the links for those of you who want to watch them.

FilePlanet - CLICK HERE

Opa Ages - CLICK HERE (May take a few seconds to start)

These two videos are of the exact same thing; except, they are taken at completely different times. One is at the press conference, and the other is behind doors at the Bungie E3 booth. If you watch the videos, you should notice exactly what I did. In the press conference video there are dark clouds and skies, not much sunlight, soft shadows, not many reflections off of the surrounding environment, and if you watch the beginning you can hear what appears to be thunder in the background. In the Opa Ages video there are bright reflections, bright skies, darker shadows, white clouds, and blue skies. This has nothing to do with the quality of the video or video noise. Both of the places I have given to download these videos give great quality videos.

I think this means one of two things.
1. - The weather changes while in play during MP.
Or
2. - You have the option to customize the weather before the level begins in MP.

While I personally belive both of these are likely in the final product, I think that the 2nd one is more likely in this particular situation. Why? If you’ll notice, both of the videos are tutorials, not actual game play. These videos are taken BEFORE the CTF round begins.

There was one other interesting thing I noticed. If you watch the bridge fall down to the huge fan with the energy sword under it, you’ll notice that the bridge reacts differently (while it is settling down) in the Opa Ages video, than in the press conference video... this could be because the envionment reacts to different wind speeds? Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or do you guys see what I’m talking about?

I disagree. I understand what you are saying though. I love to run out with gunz-a-blazing and play Rambo style just as much, if not more, than the next guy. Can you honestly tell me that you didn't feel that swell of pride in AOTCR when you snuck up on a room full of unsuspecting Covenenant aliens? By no means do I want Halo 2 to be a stealth game, but I do want the option of being able to sneak up on people. Their is a balance, a balance that I think Bungie could be capable of.

Good find Eagle. I see what you are saying. So i assume you are a believer in customizable weather? What do you think would be the coolest scenario?

I'm not exactly a "believer" in customizable weather in Halo 2 just yet... E3 was not the final build of the game. However, I do hold the view that customizable weather would add a lot of replay value to Halo 2.

If customizable weather actually changed the game enviornment (high winds let you jump farther, warthogs get stuck in heavy mud, fog makes you use close combat weapons, etc.), then the gameplay and strategy would almost always be changing because of the weather. This would feature would give Halo 2 MP an almost infinite replay value.
