Subject: ODST is now worthless

Nuts on corpses men, move out!

Cutscenes! I just finished NMPD Headquarters yet again, and the only reason I keep replaying that mission (aside from the fact that I get to play sniper =D) is to watch the badass cutscene at the end... What better way to end a level than to watch a Brute Chieftain get munched by 3 ODST...

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

The game is fun. People should quit making threads about how bad this game is because there really is no point to it. Do you want to recruit people to your mentality? Who cares if people share your view, you're just trying to put others down.

Complaining isnt going to make the game any better for you.

I wouldn't say ODST is worthless now, I knew the exclusive maps would be available for download sooner or later, they just wanted to wait until after the Christmas rush to release them to get as many people buying ODST as they could. My guess is the campaign half of ODST will be available for direct download on the marketplace a short while after the Beta is over, too.

I'd rather have all the maps on a disc anyways.

Plus it's not worthless if you plan on playing the beta.

Exactly, having the maps on a disc is good for HDD space, it lets me keep AC2 installed and download the (rather large) DLC too.

And I also enjoy Firefight, the ODST Campaign (especially on co-op, Mombasa Streets is awesome) and the Reach Beta is something to look forward to.

Ooh, I love those people, the ones who decide to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you, as if an M16 does anything to a T-90. Oh, MLG player with noobtube instead? Congrats! You blew off one of my ablative plates!

Just because there is another method to obtain the maps doesn't mean that they lose their value if bundled with something else.
I mean, ODST's multiplayer disk has $28 worth of maps and that value doesn't decrease just because you have alternatives, it's still $28 worth of maps regardless of how you buy it.

don`t forget it gives you all the map packs

Gah! Enough with the logic, it burns us angry mobbers ears!

>_> lets imagine you are a person who doesn`t have any of the map packs buy ODST and you can just head straight into all the new maps

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you're judging ODST by it's extra content, not the game itself. To me, I'd rather have the disc. The ability to download them just means that whoever wants just the maps can have them.

We Surround Them!

Well maybe for you it has "no value" but then again I guess you obviously have never played a game all over again just "for the fun of it" or actually have friends who might love to still play it.

Personally I love this game and feel it is superior in every way to Halo 3 - especially in the fact there is no matchmaking and no "Spartan vs. Spartan" combat. I'd much rather team up with a friend of several friends and spend an hour or two destroying Covenant forces than spend even 10 minutes with friends listening to whining teenagers crying about "lag" or watching them spend half the time teabagging opponents when the kill they got wasn't anything to speak of.

Call me old fashioned, but I quite enjoy the idea of the UNSC forces (in this case ODSTs) beating the snot out of Brutes, Grunts and Jackals. I only can hope that Halo: Reach will allow the same thing - a Firefight mode - against Elites as well. And I'd even be willing to open the floor to matchmaking WITH these same snot-nosed teens so long as they shut their pieholes and concentrated on callouts and weapon drops instead of using their headsets as DJ mics for their music or carrying on a personal conversation while playing online. Like I want to hear what you're demanding your Mum make for dinner!

Hola to that! I think the game is a stoke of genius from Bungie, absolutely loved it, can't wait for Reach beta to arrive!

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.

Don't get me wrong I love the new gameplay style but too short and FF is kinda dull.

P.S once the Reach beta is over, that little value it has goes down the drain!

Always have fun.

This game was worth my money. I like the different gameplay, and even though Campaign was a little too short, to me, Firefight would definitely keep me coming back for me. Just the thrill of getting overwhelmed when you're the last man standing is something I would enjoy every minute. Even if the beta is gone, I will still be playing ODST.

  • 02.03.2010 9:51 PM PDT

Hey, Come on. Everyone has their own opinion okay? You don't need to go into the ODST Forum and talk about how the game is worthless! To me I thought the game was worth every penny. It had a wonderful new gameplay and a story that linked to HALO 3 and a story that linked to a more religious topic, take a look at the post "Little did you know, you all just played through an epic poem, hah!" That topic, posted by "Danves" explains a deep connection and I thought it was pretty cool (Check it out, it's on the sidebar)
