Spammers and such would abuse the power by posting explicit images. For example: If a spammer were to link up to an explicit image on this site, you would know what it was before you clicked on it because you could mouse-over it and read its contents. If a spammer like that had the ability to post pictures within the thread, you would be "forced" to view it as you clicked on the thread expecting something else.

Yes, but this is Bungie.net. You should take a look around and see how many blacklistings the moderators give out a day here.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

For one thing, Halobabies does not have over 1,000,000 members, and there are also more mods at Halobabies. Also, something about this site seems to draw jerks...I don't know what it is, but there's something. Another reason pictures and sig pictures are not allowed is because if everyone had a JPEG in their sig the poor server would explode, and even if it didn't, performance would go down near to zero.

Just over the past 5 days I have handed out 34 bans as of 5:35 EST. Now the whole problem with images is that people would abuse it, often time posting things they should not. So to avoid this problem Bungie decided to not allow people to post images.

damn, owell, can we at least do it in groups? Like an image gallery? When somebody raises a bad picture, wont it be detected somehow? I don't know.

I never liked a forum where people had huge -blam!- pictures in their sigs in the first place. All I see is either Final Fantasy screenshots or some stupid punk band.

Another good reason why B.net doesn't allow pictures. This is an official website owned by an official company, owned by Microsoft. Now let's imagine someone puts a nice picture of some naked playmate on this site. Well, that's just nice and hawt right? Sure.
Now let's imagine some 10 year old kid is browsing through these forums, he sees the picture of Miss June, but so did his mum.

Result: mum gets mad, calls that wicked group of Overconcerned mothers. They get mad at Microsoft, Microsoft gets mad at Bungie, Bungie gets the reputation of showing naked months to children who are just a number of months too young for that. And since that is just plain wrong Hilary Clinton decides to step in and well, you get my point?
