Take a step back with me and enjoy a taste of the bittersweet that is our current generation.

I enjoy Battlefield and Call of Duty, and Gears of War.

I love anything political.

i can't either, this sucks

Is there anything else we can do besides calling support. Where are some forums that MS sees directly where there will be more pressure to respond.

I do not fear death, in view of the fact that I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. ~ Mark Twain

Any news on this yet?

Wow, just did the same as all you guys BEFORE reading this thread - now my maps are completely gone :(. This totally bites. Yet another example of Microsoft's lunatic bureaucracy - they should have the content available until shutdown, even as a goodwill gesture - totally kicking us in the face for not doing so.

I have seen a few tutorials about getting the actual (completely legit) map files from an external server, then bunging them (and a file structure) on the 360 HDD with a hard drive transfer cable. Could this be a workaround, or will the same 'corrupted maps' problem surface again? I just want to confirm before shelling out on a cable.

It is a workaround, but the problem will happen next time your 360 red rings or gets e74. And you might get banned from matchmaking but when it shuts down you won't need to worry.

Only gaming forums ms goes on are forums.xbox.com and forums.gamesforwindows.com. There is also connect.microsoft.com for suggestions.

I think the content still has to be installed to your 360, putting the maps on your 360 would just give you the corrupted message. In other words the content has to be signed to your 360 and i don't think that has been figured out yet.. Hopefully someone comes up with something.

For the xbox 1 it has been. Or else there wouldn't have been matchmaking modders in the old days or xbox modders.

maserfish I thought the same thing, but Agent Agent Agent doesn't work until it gets to a certain point. For me, it takes about 1:15 to get to where it will let that happen.

On another note, MS missed their 48 hour call back to me, and I contacted them back, and got another 48 hour escalation. Seems their dancing on this one a bit. It makes me wonder if this was a mistake or an accident, maybe a mis-communication with big results. Though you'd think they'd have restored from backup by now if it had. Maybe they're the victim of some malicious "last day on the job" admin or something.

I have gotten flamed a lot at majornelson's blog for complaining about this. People who point out the part in the EULA that states that they can remove stuff at whim and whatnot, but this doesn't quite fit. I mean that clause is in there to cover them in case of loss of data perhaps, or a developer backing out or demanding content removal. It just seems out of left field for MS to apply it in the sense of just screwing over loyal customers.

You tell the flamers of at majornelson's blog to "Suck It!" No wait.....I will. They can spout all that EULA BS they want, but my guess is that since Bungie didn't even know about the DLC issue and it basically jeapordizes there final farewell date that somebody at M$ f'ed up.

  • 02.10.2010 10:34 AM PDT

I am also experiencing this problem. Although I count myself among the lucky ones because I actually had one of the packs downloaded. The only list I can play is hardcore. It's really dissappointing though because direlict was one of my favorites.

  • 02.10.2010 12:00 PM PDT

This is all very poor, i just want to play halo 2 one more time. I have paid for the dlc but it say it is corrupt. I am doomed.

  • 02.10.2010 1:11 PM PDT

Well, Friday will be one week since we started this thread and 6 days since we read this;

On it. Not sure what, if any, solution we can work out, but we definitely can't adjust the playlists over the weekend. Sit tight.

My question is, who thinks we will get an update before the weekend and who thinks we will be lucky to get an update before April 15th? I really hope we find something out soon.

Our cancellation or suspension may be without cause and without notice. Upon Service cancellation, your right to use the Service stops right away. Earlier in the terms of use its specified that "services" include DLC. So this means they're no required to do anything so most likely they won't. Good Game guys. Time to look for another solution

SUCK IT! Why would ske7ch say:

"That said, mark your calendars now - on April 14th we're going to hit Halo 2 en masse for one last HOORAH, old school style."

If a majority of the Halo community that would be playing Halo 2 on this date couldn't due to the non-existant DLC?

So, to anyone else that wants to spout the "terms of use", "code of conduct", "enter at your own risk", etc........

SUCK IT!

I want her...

Got my grubby hands on the map pack disc so hopefully that will be enough.. Sure there is two maps missing but I didn't like them ...just wanna get my relic on :)

  • 02.10.2010 1:36 PM PDT

They should "Unrequire"DLC for the playlists, then this would be no problem, and they should also find a way to get the download on 360 servers...

Suck it? How mature.

Well I believe ske7ch said that before all the DLC was removed.

I'm not quoting the terms of use to be a downer I'm just saying this is what Microsoft contractually obligated to do, nothing, so what do you think Microsoft will end up doing...leaving the DLC off, or re-releasing the DLC to be downloaded for free and lose money on bandwith? Be real what do you think is going to happen.

Bungie needs to tweek the H2 playlist to be DLC optional, or players need to buy the DLC disk or figure out a way to download it from somewhere else.

I really hope they lift the DLC restrictions. I've looked at my local gaming stores and no one has the map disk...and I don't take fondly to buying things online. This is my last hope; I wanna play some Halo 2.

IB. The bane of my existence.

I wonder if Microsoft could put something similar to the MP Map Pack onto the Marketplace as an Xbox original.

Just because MS can technically do this, doesn't mean they didn't do it in bad taste.

They removed the DLC without warning, before they even announced they were shutting the servers down.

It's not hard at all to re-upload the DLC (H2 at least) back up on the servers. If enough people complain, I see no reason why they just won't put the DLC back up for a little bit.

You can email them at

Thank you. I sent them a message requesting for them to make the maps available. I doubt it will do much good; but I wanted to try.
