Can't be too careful with your company. I can feel the devil walking next to me.

It's price is now in the hands of the middle companies. Best Buy, Gamestop, and everyone else will drop the price when they feel they might lose money on keeping it in stock, instead of replacing it with a more profitable game.

well, the thing is, the game wasn't as profitable as most games released this year and the map pack II release only hurts it. maybe in a few weeks or something, they'll lower it but, you think it would make sense for the price to go down after releasing the three new maps that were only available on the mythic disk. I thought the price would go down to 49.99 or something more reasonable.

It sold close to 3 million units on it's own on one platform, that is a very profitable scenario in gaming business. The reason MW2 sold more than that, MW2 being an example I'm sure others will use, is because it was a more hyped game sold on multiple consoles.

ODST is still a fairly new game, when late summer hits you should see a decrease in price but, it's still making money.

I don't know why Soldier of Fortune was even produced because that is a truly terrible game....or Turning Point Fall of Liberty....or UberSoldier, or anything movie/game related.

B.net =/= everyone who knows of ODST.

ODST is still a relatively new game, I think once Reach is out you will see a major change in the price.

Soldier of fortune was kinda fun just because it was so gory otherwise yes, it was terrible.

ODST is still probably making enough money and moving enough copies to keep the price up, once people stop buying it the price will drop, plus it's a big name game so the Halo name alone will keep it selling and keep the price from dropping in the immediate future.

My guess is that the price will either be lowered in a few months or after the beta is released. I have a feeling right before the beta comes out there will be another push to get people to buy the game to get into the beta.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

-Sic transit gloria mundi

Don't forget, once the Halo: Reach Beta is out, a good chunk of the oblivious people are going to say:
1-"Hey the Halo Reach Beta is out!"
2-"What's a Beta? A Spartan fraternity or something?"
1-"No it's like some sort of multiplayer demo for a new Halo game!"
2-"Oh cool! Let's download it!"
1-"We can't, we need Halo 3: ODST first!"
2-"Crap I hate that game, I played it once, and I couldn't pwn and noobs in it! Only those alien things!"
1-"Yeah but we need it for the beta!"
2-"Ok let's buy it, but I'm only buying it for the beta!"

My point- When the beta is out, the demand goes up. When the demand goes up, the high price is justified.
