You will be able to play online through Xbox connect and You could have halo 2 Vista. Not to mention a decent amount of poeple playing halo CE(NOT PC) online.

You guys are rightfully worried, but it's really not the end.

I mean XBC is free anyway and is still heavily populated with a custom game search feature. I just finished playing a game of MLG on midship in a full 16 player game.

In fact, aside of ranks, South Americans, and the excessive amount of MLG only hosts, things will be just fine :)

Because Halo 2 XBL is superior to all other ways to play Halo 2 online.

H2V is laggy as heck, and there isn't a matchmaking system like XBL. So there really is no standard for playing games. It's always BR starts and some ridiculous secondary weapon like a sword or shotgun. There are no ranked games in H2V either.

XBC has all the same problems.

The only good thing about playing H2V is that my skill level is godly compared to most people on that game.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

You forgot Xlink Kai. It is also good and it is for Windows, mac, linux, and best of all, older versions of XMBC.

Halo 2 on XBC is not laggy at all, maybe even better than Xbox Live, you probably joined a game hosted in south america or somewhere else far away.

Xlink Kai actually closed down a few months ago.

I Know XBC is no where near as good as live, but it's bearable + you get to play Halo CE versus.

I'm just trying to comfort everyone here; to lower the panic level so poeple won't be as sad.

Well, I haven't played Halo 2 XBC in a long time. So I guess I could be wrong. But it still doesn't have a set standard for what a normal game should be like.

I'll use XBC/Kai in the future, but I'll miss Halo 2 on Live. Live is easier to play with friends and stuff, plus it has matchmaking, ranks, and stats here on Bungie.net.
