My son asked me for xbox points to buy a new map pack. In the past they've always seemed like reasonable value as he gets a lot of enjoyment from playing them. After paying for the points and him downloading the "new" mythic map pack 2 it seems he just paid more money for maps he already paid for when he bought ODST.Can anyone confirm if this is really the case?
Try stepping in another person's shoes.Wait, what?Oh, not literally, of course!
I'm sorry, did you already buy ODST and then the 'new' map pack?
We bought ODST when it first came out, so yes.
Youtube page.
So you bought the maps even though you already had thm on a disk? That does not make any sence.

The Mythic Map Pack 2 has the same maps that were released on ODST. Unfortunately, it was an unecessary purchase.[Edited on 02.07.2010 7:46 AM PST]

Yes, the "new" mythic map pack 2 that was released on Xbox Live was released for those who had not purchased ODST. If you had purchased ODST, then you would not have to pay for the seperate marketplace download, because you already had the maps with ODST.
I was charged the 800 points for the map pack, but can see no new maps when playing ODST.Also, rereading the description for the mythic map pack 2, it isn't as clear as it should be that if you already own ODST then you have these maps.[Edited on 02.07.2010 7:57 AM PST]

Thanks for the reply.I still maintain it could be clearer, my limited experience with map packs is they've always been additional to maps included with the game.I do accept some culpability of course.
Why not stop by my File Share while you're here? ~Long Live Halo 2 Only regret is I didn't play more of it.If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Its confirmed. You paid for maps that you already had with ODST.(edit) It also was not a scam. You should have looked a little deeper into this before handing your kid $10 -_-[Edited on 02.07.2010 8:37 AM PST]
Three square meals and Halo 3!lmgtfy.com is that site that does google for you! OMG!>>>>>BUNGIE IS NOT MAKING ANY GAMETYPE SPECIFIC PLAYLISTS UNTIL A WHILE AFTER REACH IS OUT!!!<<<<<^^^For your Copying and Pasting pleasure. =]
Your son is how old? I mean, really, it was pretty clear that that you were getting ALL the maps on the ODST Multiplayer disk =P
Thats why you can set parental settings.
A lack of investigation prior to purchase doesn't make a "scam", I'm afraid, particularly when the needed information is included with the very first line of the item's description.
OK guys, the condescension is a little over the top.
