Subject: Halo 2 Downloadable Xbox 360 Version

I would like to see Microsoft release a downloadable Xbox 360 version of Halo 2.

It would contain achievements for Xbox 360, and a working MM system that runs on "360 Matchmaking", not the original Xbox Network. It could come in 2 versions, one being a standalone version costing $20-$30, and a "disk required" version which costs $5 and doesn't start without a H2 disk. Since Microsoft is a business, this would make it money. A lot of people have Halo 2 and a Xbox 360, and while $5 isn't much, that many people buying it adds up. And, people who don't have H2 have a chance to experience it for the first time. I know Bungie is busy with Reach, so they could make 343 Industries work on the port (sort of like how Gearbox worked on the Halo 1 port to the PC). I'm no expert in game development, but I'm fairly sure this would be possible technically. It would please the Halo fanbase, and make Microsoft money, so I can't see a downside to working on it.

Check out my Gaming Rig on EVGA Mod Rigs.

I think this would be a great idea but I don't think we'll see that happened considering we have been asking for both Halo CE & Halo 2 to be re-released as XBL games since 360 came out and have received neither as of yet.

Halo 1 is not being released with XBL because the entire game would need to be recoded to do so. It would cost a lot of time and money to do it.

But, Halo 2 has good net coding already. If they can just modify it so that it is compatible with the 360 dashboard, then this is very doable and there might actually be money to be made here. This happening to Halo 2 is at least plausible.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

They could port Halo 1 PC. It has netcode.
Halo 2 should have a 360 live port too.
