Great theory. There is too much coincidence to think that at least MS isn't involved. Bungie maybe not directly but something is up. I like the theories. Food for thought: If you are about money (and every company is) and you have a finished product that you want to get out to the masses, do you sit on it? No. The key is in the completion of the product, if Bungie is done and ready to roll then the release is sooner than expected. Why? If you have a ton of pre-orders out there already, and you release on Nov 9th, you will have a TON of people that will not get the game for Christmas (simple economics), if you release early you win two ways... you get the jump on all of the other games that make the Christmas rush and you also have product available for pretty much anyone for the Holidays. If they release early, they will get not only the pre-order crowd, but then add the word of mouth crowd, and then add to that the late purchasers... they don't need to spend marketing dough on this.. they already have the pub they need. Again, this is contingent on them being done with the product. The ILB piece is brilliant marketing 101, whoever came up with it is seriously loving the free advertising.
Peace!
